Cap. 24: I'm not your son anymore

Eddy looked back at her with bloodshot eyes. He kind of expected them to be the same assholes as usual but claiming that Brett had falsely accused the man that caused his almost death was too much. He stepped in front of Brett and puffed his chest in a challenging way.

Eddy: "Pardon? I dare you repeat"

He said to his mother like she was made of mud

Mama: "You understood perfectly: the thing behind you accused an alpha, that was simply searching for a reproductive partner, of rape, and moreover said alpha was giving him a job. He is just troublemaking, he cannot behave like an omega"

Eddy: "Trouble making?"

He repeated articulating every single syllable.

Eddy: "You know what's trouble making? Messing with the life of a person till the point they need a five hour per hand reconstruction"

He stated dryly taking one of Brett's hands to show.

Eddy: "That is trouble making, not accusing the man that almost made the wonderful person behind me disappear. No, I'm sorry madame, but I won't accept this. I've been on Brett's side for a while now and I've learned not only how to love him, but how amazing he can be. Let me repeat this just this once: Robert goddamn Spike is a rapist, not an alpha just searching for a partner to reproduce with. Fuck it, we are humans but elite people like you still believe in race like animals."

He continued while shielding Brett even more. He was not trying to pull 'I'm a protective alpha', but 'this is my battle'.

Eddy: "I'm a multi-prized doctor known all around the world for my talent in reconstruction yet I'm nothing compared to him, but of course since he is an omega, he just needs one thing that you don't like for him to be 'not suitable for me'"

He chuckled bitterly

Eddy: "Kim was perfect for you, but despite the fact that I didn't like many traits of what you made her become I was in the wrong for not baring and keeping my 'wonderful' wedding. I've done everything you wanted me to do: me, Belle, Anthony, James, Lucy, Nora, Matthew, every one of us was grown with the belief that we needed to keep this perfect appearance for you to be pleased and that eventually doing what we were told would have led us to being loved by you, but gosh darn it, were we wrong"

It was clear that since it was Eddy, an alpha the speech was having a little effect on his parents. They were utterly shocked like not wanting to believe that the well-mannered child they've grown was really answering back at their statements.

Eddy: "You just care about image, there's no love whatsoever between you two and for your own children. I've tried to keep a peaceful relationship with you while trying to have back my life, and as I feel confident bringing home the man I want by my side for the rest of my life, you just google his name and decide that he is not the right one.

Well FUCK YOU AND YOUR IMAGE, now I really had enough of all of this. I am an adult and as I didn't receive any love from you in the past years, I won't pretend it now, so be chill I'm not your son anymore...or should I say your burden"

And with this he stormed out with Brett close behind.

Just as he was about to exit the big salon with every gaze upon himself his mother shouted sternly

Mama: "I warn you: going out of that door means no more inheritance"

She seemed sure that she was pulling the right string as she made a satisfied face right after Eddy stopped to look at her

Eddy: "You wanted me to become a doctor, I can make all the money I need myself, I don't need your fucking money"

He said almost in a mocking tone of voice before turning back and exiting.
