Jane: "Yes you're pregnant again"

Brett: "What?"

He had returned the month before from the honeymoon and his morning nausea was killing him so he guessed that a visit with Jane was due before assuming he had just got a virus while on holiday, since last time he remained pregnant it also happened quite easily.

Jane: "Yes, you are pregnant, about one month, I guess the honeymoon was fun"

She said smirking.

Jane: "We need to consider a stronger form of birth control for the future, if you don't want more babies. I've been to a conference last week and I discovered that imprinted people have so high compatibility that just inserting without even ejaculate the omega can remain pregnant"

Brett looked back at her wide eyes.

Brett: "Oh..."

Jane: "Yep, oh...anyway, as usual I remain available if you decide to abort it, let me know before the three months term, ok?"

Brett: "Sure..."

Jane: "Cool, have a nice evening"

The answer was simple: yes. He would have had this baby, he didn't want Hilary to grown as an only child and he and Eddy were already considering adopting one baby that might have remained in the system, and he was quite sure that this option would have remained for the future but now they had another little bean to take care of.

He wanted to find a fun way to tell Eddy since last time he didn't have much decisional power over it.

Eddy: "Hey how did the visit go?"

He asked as Brett stepped in the living room where Eddy and Hilary were having a tea with Hilary's favourite plushies. He never would have thought that the vision of Eddy with a plastic crown and a pink boa would have made him so happy.

Brett: "Yes...actually I stopped by and took a little present for Papa and Hily"

He said sitting at the free chair and putting on the crown Hilary was giving him

Hilary: "Pesent?"

Brett: "Yes, here in this box"

He put a simple pastries cardboard box on the little table and waited for them to open it. It was the only thing he could think of, and it was pretty simple but it worked just fine for a cute family moment.

Eddy: "Do you wanna open it Hily?"

Hilary nodded waiting for the sweets to pop out. She carefully unwrapped the box and lifted the hem that was supposed to come off and took a look at the strange view.

Inside the box there were about ten cupcakes both pink and blue and in the centre the cupcakes left place for two tiny shoes and a black and white photo. For Eddy the scene was immediately clear while Hilary was still wondering why she had to miss two cupcakes for some photos.

Eddy: "You..."

Brett nodded as Eddy hugged him tightly under the questioning look of Hilary.

Hilary: "Can I have one, pwease?"

Brett: "Sure, but you have to answer a question for mama, ok?"

Still a little puzzled Hilary nodded

Brett: "What if mama and papa have another baby?"

Hilary: "Baby?"

Brett: "Yes a brother or a sister"

It was clear that these words weren't that clear in Hilary's vocabulary.

Hilary: "Fwend?"

She asked after a moment

Eddy: "Mama and papa sure hope that you two become friends"

Hilary smiled and then nodded

Hilary: "I like fwends!"

Brett petted her head and handed her a blue cupcake, took a pink one for himself and gave another pink one to Eddy. Hilary was still young she would have had time to fully understand what they meant.

Eight months and two days later Brett was hospitalized for his second emergency c-section.

Hilary was left with Brett's parents and the morning after the surgery she was brought to the hospital to meet her little sister: Janine.

Hilary: "Mama!"

She screamed happily as she recognized the figure of her mother laying on the bed. Mom didn't pick her up but it was papa who put her on the bed near mama.

Brett: "Hey my cute baby"

He replied hugging her weakly. She didn't look calm after her mama was reacting so strangely today.

Hilary: "Mama good?"

She asked a little concerned looking up at papa. Papa was a doctor so he should be able to take care of mama!

Brett: "Yes mama is good he is just tired, but he is happy because he can make you meet your sister"

Hilary seemed fairly convinced but still a little puzzled at the mentioning of sister.

Eddy strolled the crib toward the bed and sat down near Brett and Hilary.

Eddy: "She is your sister: Janine"

He said softly hinting to the buddle sleeping peacefully in the crib.

Hilary looked at the new thing in front of her for a while before Janine spitted her pacifier near her. She gently extended one hand and put the silicone pacifier back in her mouth. Janine sucked on it for ten seconds before spitting it again. Once again Hilary proceeded in putting it back in its place as she usually did with her dolls, but Janine spitted it once again. Hilary turned toward mama and then toward papa

Hilary: "Don't want!"

She said referring to the thing in the crib. Brett and Eddy both chuckled. After some seconds Janine started fussing and wining, extending her little hands in front of her. Hilary reached for one of the squirming hands and Janine happily took the finger she was proposed tightly into her fist.

About ten seconds later she was sleeping peacefully as before still holding onto his sister hand.

Brett: "You're such a good girl Hily, look, your sister is quiet now"

Hilary looked proudly back at her mama and papa. She still didn't know what the thing in front of her was exactly, but she knew she liked it.

P.S. The pacifier thing is exactly what I did when I first met my sister. I excluded the part in which after being asked to give a kiss to the baby, I almost crushed her while trying to climb the baby egg. Love you sis <3
