~Alternative Chapter~

This Chapter is filler but cute fluff between James and Lily

James had treated Lily quite horribly during the last trip to Hogsmeade, he'd gone off and flirted with all sorts of girls, and he'd completely forgotten about the girl who he'd wanted so badly to go with. It wasn't his fault that he was a social butterfly, he could get lost in the moment so easily.

Naturally, the boy turned to his mates, the Marauders, who were hoping to set up a date for the two, with the help of (y/n) of course. James was quite nervous for this date, though also equally excited, this could be it, his chance to make a move, the year was coming to a close after all, he didn't want to wait til the last minute to sort things out.

"I'm not ready for this Sirius, it feels different this time." James sighed, he was pacing nervously back and forth, he was awaiting on (y/n) and the girl to arrive. Remus and Peter were hidden in the background of the room, they were helping out with the behind the scenes magic of the date.

James had borrowed Sirius' special 'hiding' spot that Sirius had previously taken (y/n) to for the celebration of a certain break up that had happened the year before. It had been decorated vigorously with all of Lily and James's favorite things, and Peter had managed to bring along the bewitched record player.

"Is this James Potter speaking? You're beginning to sound like Remus." Sirius teased, the other boy didn't take much offense to Sirius' words, he'd come to the fact that he was filled with self doubt. He simply snickered in the background as he listened to Sirius speak.

"I know I know." James chuckled, Sirius had at least managed to bring a smile to the boys face, though it wasn't very difficult at all, James was always seen smiling, and seldom caught with a frown on his face.

"They'll be here soon, I guess this is my cue." Sirius said, he looked the boys lingering in the back, and gave them a nod to head out as well.

James fluffed his hair and straightened up his robes a bit, he was preparing for Lily.

(y/n) stood beside her friend, the red head whom she'd known all her time at Hogwarts. Lily was a wonderful, beautiful and kind person, someone that would always be a part of her life. (y/n) wanted Lily to find someone, just as she had found someone, and (y/n) felt that James was the best person for the girl. They'd always had a sort of spark, a sort of look in their eyes when glancing at one another. It had just gotten increasingly more noticeable over the past few years.

(y/n) could picture a future where those two lived happily ever after, she was glad that at least Lily would have something for that. As for (y/n), she was prepared for things and Sirius to go south once he found out the truth about her, and she was prepared for a hopeless outcome. She could be happy for Lily, that was all that she could do, and for now, she could live her little fantasy for a little while, before destroying it at the end of seventh year.

"Are you ready?" (y/n) asked, she hadn't told the girl much about where they were going, or what she was supposed to expect. As far as Lily was concerned, they were simply headed out for a picnic or something of the sorts.

"Of course." Lily said, she hadn't the slightest bit of hesitation in her voice, Lily could come off as timid and reserved at a first glance, but she was far from either of those things. Lily was involved and fierce and extraordinary. James was deserving of her, and her of him, they were both wonderful and immensely interesting people.
