A week had passed since the return to Hogwarts, and a week to go before the ball, which most of the students were looking forward to. Things were happening so fast, the year was already half way through, the Marauders, and others, were reaching the final stretch.
What would graduation bring for (y/n), and even Sirius. There was still a lot of clearing up that they would need to do before then.(y/n) and Lily sat plainly on their beds, they were discussing the ball, and what to wear. It was all very important, their dresses needed to work well together, or else they would be left looking like fools.
"You've got a dress, right?" (y/n) asked.
"I was going to ask you the same thing." Lily said, she held up a beautiful maxi dress with a corset bodice and tulle skirt, the color was a mesmerizing shade of green.
"I do, but it's, I dunno." (y/n) began, she help up her dress, which had belonged to her mother, therefore it didn't fit her as nicely as she would have wanted it to.
"Well go on, try it on. It's the only way we can truly judge it." Lily said, (y/n) sighed and nodded in agreement, her only real problem with the dress were the puffy sleeves, they were long and meshy, and they were beautiful, though she believed that they made her look stupid.
(y/n) returned wearing the beautiful burgandy dress, it was a very nice style, no matter who wore it, but it simply looked magical on her.
"It looks wonderful on you." Lily said, she had such a wide grin, meaning she really meant what she had said, she had a genuine look in her eyes, which brought a smile to (y/n)'s face.
"I was too lazy to go shopping anyways, and we haven't any time to get anything else." (y/) teased, she loved the dress as well, even the 'stupid' sleeves that she had been complaining oh so much about. This was the first time the girl had tried it on, and she was regretting what she had said earlier, she adored the dress, it was wonderful on her.
"At this rate you'll out class me." Lily teased, (y/n) shook her head and held up the girls dress.
"I could say the same thing about your dress." (y/n) added, the two girls laughed at one another and began putting away their dresses. there was a lot of excitement in the air, everyone was pleased about the dance.
...
Remus and Sirius sat facing one another, Sirius knew what he was there to talk to him about. He didn't exactly want to dwell on the topic, though it was no use, Remus would force him to have the conversation if he liked it or not.
"Clearly (y/n) won't be fessing up anytime soon, so that means you'll have to break the news." Remus said, he folded his arms and sat back in his chair, he had a furrowed brow and a far off look in his eyes. It was all so ominous, and it didn't help that the two were speaking together at midnight in a dark room.
"After the dance, I promise I will do it." Sirius muttered quickly, he couldn't ruin the night for the girl, but he knew that if he wanted any chance at saving his relationship with the girl then he needed to tell her.
"You better go through with it." Remus sighed, his expression softened as Sirius stared him down.
"I mean it, I will tell her the truth. I can't throw away what he have." Sirius sighed, he placed his hands to his forehead and exhaled deeply, he felt all turned up inside. Remus' constant nagging surely wasn't helping his puzzles mind, and now he'd given himself a deadline for a conversation he'd been regretting for months.
"I'm glad you've come to your senses." Remus sighed, he couldn't understand the difficulty in the situation, though it was easier for him, he wasn't necessarily human either, and that was common ground for him and (y/n).
