For quite some time now Sirius Black had managed to squirm his way into (y/n)'s mind, he had found a place there, and was intending to stay for a long while. (y/n) had come to the fact that she liked the boy, she'd accepted it, and why not enjoy the benefits.
She enjoyed the pleasant dreams about him, like long dates and other things she'd prefer not to mention. She despised the nightmares, which were hardly realistic and more so strange.
(y/n) had found herself liking someone again, someone who didn't know about her. It was a fun adventure, but she couldn't help but remember another boy from her past, and this boy had scarred her for life.
Flashback:
It was the beginning of fifth year, and (y/n) had already found herself head over heels for one of the top bachelors of Hogwarts. Clye Jenkins, a starter for the Hufflepuffs, excellent scholar, and pretty boy, he had everything and practically every girl wrapped around his finger. Clye had recently shown interest in (y/n), which surprised her and also caused her to like him.
One faithful day (y/n) managed to find herself alone with the boy, which was where the whole sham began.
"Clye." (y/n) muttered, she felt very small beside him, he was just as tall as Remus, but the way he carried himself made him appear enormous.
"Yes." The boy replied, he may have been tall in stature, but in all actuality he was a very kind person.
The pair had been forced to sort through old books as part of their detention, it was a strange request, to say the least, but (y/n) saw the moment as a great opportunity. She was free of judgement, she could speak fluidly with Clye, unlike in a classroom setting, which was the only time she ever saw him.
"Nevermind." She said, (y/n)'s heart was beating fast, it always did so when she spoke to Clye. She was glad that she'd taken back her words, in order to spare herself from embarrassment.
"Nevermind?" Clye repeated confusedly.
There was silence for a few minutes, though that was ended quickly by the boy, who was dying to know what (y/n) had intended to say.
"C'mon, now you've got me all curious." Clye sighed, he stopped his work and placed all of his attention on (y/n), she wasn't used to having eyes on her.
"It's just a joke."
"Say it." Clye said sternly, his face seemed different now, it was far more intimidating, almost terrifying, and yet (y/n) couldn't get enough of it.
"I was just going to say that you're lips look nice for kissing." (y/n) mumbled, she felt a little relieved when the boy began cracking up. That was the thing about Clye, he would laugh at nearly anything.
"Why don't we test that theory."
...
Over the course of a few weeks (y/n) and Clye had begun secretly meeting each other after class. Then it became after school, then after practice, and soon it became every spare moment they had.
Though they weren't dating, they'd never declared anything, never labeled it, they'd never even confessed to each other. (y/n) had been meaning to do so for some time, though she could never find the right moment. After all, the feelings seemed mutual, and neither had any intentions of stopping it.
One night the two snuck out to the woods, the clouds began to loom overhead as they returned towards the castle. It was gloomy, and the school had been transformed into something grey and dull, completely lacking the character and beauty that it possessed on a sunny day.
(y/n) grabbed Clye's hand and rushed him back to the campus, she feared that they wouldn't make it back in time, and that she'd be found out. Though Clye insisted that they stay longer, he could feel (y/n)'s tremors, and so he rushed back with just as much urgency as she did.
Tiny droplets could be seen forming on the ground, so (y/n) began to pick up the pace.
By then it was too late, they'd made it to the quad, they'd made it to the very edge, but (y/n) was far too soaked. The water began to seep into her skin, and the transform process began.
It had happened to slowly that it felt like life was going backwards. (y/n) let go of Clye's hand and sunk to the floor, she looked at her tail, which was lying out on the cold floor.
"I'm sorry." She whispered, she looked up at the boy, who's eyes were filled with fear.
It was a fear of being with someone like her, a fear of others judging him, and a fear of the rumors that would come from this. Fear was what caused him to run away like a coward, leaving the girl alone in the rain.
(y/n) sunk her head and sighed, she tried her best to contain herself, she'd only let a few tears escape her eyes. She turned to face the direction in which Clye had went, he'd already disappeared from sight, in the other direction was a vastly approaching figure, though it was too far to make out who the figure was.
His long robes and greying hair had given him away, of course it was Dumbledore.
"You like you're in need of assistance." Dumbledore said with a smile, (y/n) sunk her head and noticed how quickly she'd changed back, most likely thanks to the man standing in front of her.
"You have to stop him." (y/n) mumbled, she stood up and looked to the floor, she didn't dare look at him.
"Mr. Jenkins has already been spoken to, you have no reason to worry." Dumbledore stated, he was awfully calm, because in his eyes this was nothing but child's play, a simple mishap between to adolescents.
"It would be a wise decision to steer clear of that boy."
