"God I love this song." Sirius cheered, he'd been hoping to rescue (y/n) from her imprisonment behind the temporary bar, she'd been put on mixology duty. He snuck through to the other side and grabbed the girls hand.

"I can't Sirius." (y/n) pleaded, it was only a front for any others who were watching, she'd been wanting to dance with the boy for a while now.

"Oh come on, these people can pour their own shots." Sirius scoffed, his breath wreaked of boose, and his pupils were much wider than usual. He was certainly a little buzzed, but that was part of the fun, Sirius transformed into something new when he had a little buzz going.

Layla (Derek and The Dominoes) began playing overhead, (y/n) and Sirius both rushed to the dance floor, which was hardly a dance floor at all. The two swayed to the beat as if it were second nature, they were both thankful for their similar music tastes.

A/N: Pause and take a moment to listen to that song it's valid 🥸 sort of applies to the story

"You got me on my knees (y/n), I'm beggin on my knees (y/n)." Sirius teased, he was clever in singing the girls name rather than the proper lyrics. The girl laughed at his antics and drew nearer to him.

The piano ending began to play, it was a total turn around from the main chorus, but that's what made the song beautiful. (y/n) reached for Sirius' hands as she rested her head on his shoulder, the moment was purely surreal there was no other way to describe it.

(y/n) and Sirius continued their dancing for quite some time, they were surprisingly good, though when the slow dance came on they were a sloppy mess, always stepping on one another's feet.

"I've got to sit down." (y/n) said, she was feeling rather light headed, mainly because of the proximity of her and Sirius, which was practically non existent.

"You're probably dehydrated, I'll get some water." Sirius stated, he rushed off somewhere, leaving the girl alone for a moment. She was thankful for his thoughtfulness, she was beginning to understand why his mates liked him so much. Sirius seemed like a total shit from the outside, but he had a big heart, and he was surprisingly considerate. Of course one has to take into consideration the fact that he likes (y/n), which may have something to do with his kindness towards her.

Sirius returned with a glass of water and some chocolate. Remus has given it to him for good measure since Sirius had asked him for advice to treat (y/n).

"Thanks." (y/n) chuckled, she tucked her hair behind her ears and downed the thing. She felt her cheeks, which were still warm to the touch. She'd suddenly gotten a wild idea, it had swept across her mind in an instant, and just the thought of it got her heart racing.

What if she confessed? Right now.

It seemed like the perfect time to do it, and it would be one more weight off of her chest. Everything else went to mush as (y/n) focused on what to say, even Sirius had escaped her sights.

"Earth to (y/n)." Sirius said, he waved a hand in front of the girls face, she hadn't blinked in a straight minute. The girl shook her head and snapped back to reality.

"I think I need some fresh air." (y/n) said, she took Sirius' hand and dragged him along through the mess of a common room to a little balcony. It was pitch black outside, except for the candles that illuminated the confined space.

"Are you sure you're feeling alright, you're a little red in the face." Sirius asked, he was clueless as ever and of course he took her flustered cheeks as an illness rather than blushing. He was so insecure about (y/n)'s feelings, she'd been the first girl to refuse him, even if it were indirectly. It was always a game with her, she could be so bipolar.
