"Are you ready to tell me your secret now?" Sirius murmured, the two had finally realized how urgent the project was, and what little time they had left to finish. Remus and Peter were doing something on an old Hogwarts Professor, it was an odd pairing but James had wanted to be with Lily. To (y/n)'s surprise, the girl hadn't refused his offer. Jolene was paired with someone from her house, so that left the two lovebirds.

"Not after you explain why you've already kissed me twice this year." (y/n) muttered, once was enough, twice was certainly enough, but the girl had a feeling that there was more to come, this was only the beginning.

"I just lose track of these things, I don't even remember who I kiss." Sirius shrugged, (y/n) shot the boy an annoyed glance, she couldn't believe him sometimes.

"Well maybe you should tone it down, kissing is supposed to be meaningful, not a hobby." (y/n) sighed, she wasn't even sure why she bothered with the boy, there was no changing him.

"I didn't realize you were such a romantic, (y/n)." Sirius replied, he had a strange grin on his face, it was almost inhumane. "I bet you like picnics along the beach, and holding hands, and all that corny stuff." He continued, completely humoring the girl, which was frustrating for (y/n).

"Even that can be a little too corny for me." (y/n) muttered, that was a lie, but she didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Sirius, he'd find a way to make jokes out of it for ages.

"Alright memorize this by Friday, you'll be Godric." (y/n) said, she was desperately trying to get back on topic, she had crafted a pretty good script, and they would do a reenactment of sorts about the life of Godric Gryffindor. Bins had said to be creative, and a skit seemed perfect.

"And you're the narrator?" Sirius asked in confusion "Can't you play a love interest, it would make things much more exciting." Sirius teased, (y/n) shook her head, and sighed.

"I've already made the script Sirius, I'm not changing it." (y/n) began, "Just memorize it, how we can meet up again tomorrow, does that work for you." (y/n) muttered, her arms were already crossed, and her gaze narrowed.

"That's perfect." Sirius replied, his tone was rather plain and dull, though that was because his attention was fixated on a book that was rotting on a shelf behind him. "This looks like something out of the forbidden section of the library." Sirius marveled, he had found a large book covered in scales. "The book of nymphs, sirens, and mermaids." He read, Sirius began turning through the pages, not noticing how his study partner had managed to slip away undetected.

...

Jolene came crying back to (y/n) one day just after breakfast, she'd been acting strange all week, and had hardly talked to either of her friends.

"I'm sorry, I haven't been straightforward with you." The girl whimpered, nothing good could come from a sentence like that, (y/n) took a deep breath and prepared for the worst. Jolene was having a hard time steadying her breath, and her hands were shaking badly, but she continued. (y/n) wrapped an arm around the girl, and rested her head atop of hers.

"You can tell me when you're ready." (y/n) said, she used a sort of motherly voice, one that she did not know she possessed.

"I-, well, I was sort of hooking up with Sirius." Jolene began, (y/n)'s eyes widened and a pit opened up in her stomach, but she chose to remain silent and hear the girl out. "But I caught him kissing multiple other girls, and he'd said I was the only one." Jolene whimpered, she buried her face into (y/n)'s shoulder as students began to pass the girls by.

"That's the thing about Sirius, he's a liar. He doesn't take your feelings into consideration, they're simply not on his radar." (y/n) started, she took a deep breath and continued "Still, he shouldn't have done such a thing> "(y/n) continued, Jolene, nodded and smiled.
