(y/n) rushed quickly through the halls once class had concluded, she could tell that someone was gaining on her, and she knew exactly who it was, since he'd been staring at her a little too much at the end of class.

And now he'd finally managed to catch up.

"(y/n) wait." Sirius said, he was still panting when he'd reached her, though he quickly resumed his talking once he got the panting to a minimum.

"I'm sorry that I've been treating you like a child and ignoring your opinion. I'm sure you've dealt with things like this, maybe not to this scale, but anyways." Sirius said, he took a deep breath and swept the hair out of his eyes.

"I love you and I don't want us to be fighting over something so trivial." Sirius started, he'd gone and lost his breath again.

"You love me?" (y/n) mumbled, her face became flustered and she began to get that nervous feeling again.

"That's what I said isn't it?" Sirius smirked, he was doing that thing, right before he was about to kiss a girl. He'd slowly draw his face closer to hers, and then boom.

"I love you two Sirius." (y/n) said, this time she was the one to kiss him, it was short and sweet since the two of them had classes to get to.

"I'll be seeing you then?" (y/n) asked.

"Of course."

Just like the previous rumors, it seemed like everyone had moved on from (y/n). There wasn't much to say about it anymore, the news was very relieving to (y/n) since it meant no more disturbing questions or incessant staring.

This also meant no more secrets, no more having to rush here and there in secrecy. Though (y/n) still preferred to bathe in privacy, that was something she'd never shed.

It was a Saturday when Sirius took the girl down to the lake, it came as a bit of a shock to (y/n), given that he'd stopped bringing up all things concerning mermaids for a while now.

"Why do you want to go there?" (y/n) asked, the two were perched at a table in the library, (y/n) had just now begun to focus on her n.e.w.t.s, which she needed to pass with flying colors if she even wanted to dream of becoming an auror. It seemed like a stretch, though she dreamt of it since she was young. If not an auror then perhaps something useful in the ministry (though she'd soon find out it's corrupt ness once she reached adulthood)

"Well the water's lovely this time of year, so I thought we could go for a swim." Sirius shrugged, he was acting awfully strange in front of the girl.

"It'll be cold." (y/n) sighed, she wasn't too worried about herself, the cold wasn't a problem when she was in the water.

"So what, let's just go." Sirius said, he lifted the girl up and pushed her out of the library.

"May I ask why you're so eager to do this?" (y/n) inquired, Sirius rolled his eyes and took the girls hand.

"No." He said coldly, to be perfectly frank, Sirius had just wanted to see (y/n) again, like how she'd been at the dance, when her eyes would glow and her skin became all shimmery. It was something truly wonderful to behold.

He was also a little curious, he'd never seen (y/n) underwater before, but he also supposed that the whole ordeal could be considered a date, though it was hardly romantic.

The lake was coming up ahead, and the sun had begun to set now, (y/n) gripped the boys hand tightly as they approached the water.

"I usually strip when I come here." (y/n) said, her tone was dead serious.

"I-." The boy gasped.

"But that's because I can't use magic to dry my clothes off. I've got you so there's no problem." (y/n) added, the boy nodded and sighed.

(y/n) still took off her robes and all, it could get heavy when underwater, so now she stood in her undergarments, and Sirius stated that he would not be taking off any clothes because he would freeze to death. He was going to freeze to death once he entered the water, and again we he exited it.

(y/n) dove into the pool, and Sirius followed after her. He'd cast a spell that placed a bubble around his head, it would allow him to breathe underwater, and increase visibility.

The two submerged below the surface, (y/n)'s body was illuminated below, while Sirius was left in the darkness. He held his breath for a moment, before remembering that he could breathe as well.

(y/n) looked at the boy, who had a small glow on his face thanks to her.

"Can you talk with that thing?" (y/n) asked, Sirius muttered something, though his words were muffled by the bubble.

"I see, well I hardly talk down here anyway, I'll just show you." (y/n) said, she swam beside Sirius and grabbed a hold of his hand, which was cold to the touch and shaking slightly, his hands steadied once (y/n) clasped onto it.

The girl smiled and swam forwards she had Sirius trailing behind her, he was amazed at the speed she could swim at. Her hair flowed so gracefully in the water, it looked so soft and majestic, and her body, it was speckled with scales. They weren't like the ones on her tail, they were different, almost skinlike. But of course, if you take a closer look you can spot the small little scales.

The pair reached a small ledge which had a nice view to the drop off just north of where they had entered. (y/n) particularly enjoyed this spot because of the wildlife that populated it, as well as the view of the surface.

Sirius just glanced at (y/n), he was doing it again, that slight lean in, that thing he always did when he was about to kiss someone. Though as he did so, his bubble bursted, and his face was finally touching hers.

(y/n) kissed the boy back, though she realized that he needed to return to the surface again. The girl grabbed a hold of the boy and swam as quickly as possible to the surface. Sirius sat there in awe and watched as (y/n) reached the top so quickly. The two gasped for air, and quickly resumed their kissing.

She wrapped her arms around the boys neck, and he placed his hands on her hips, the two were an entangled mess with only their heads about the surface.

(y/n) and Sirius lay sprawled on the course sand, they glanced at one another, then back at the sky that laid above

"Promise that you'll never leave, Sirius." (y/n) muttered, she reached out to grab his hand.

"I promise, and even if I do, it won't be forever." Sirius teased, he sat up and scooted closer to (y/n), and he began to play with her hair, which still had the unique glow, thanks to the moon.

The two continued to lie beside one another, glancing at the stars above, a shooting star shot across the sky, leaving the two wishing for all things pleasant and for a future alongside one another.

The End.
