[A/N] I'm finally back because I realized that I never actually finished this fic so here we are... I left off in the middle of Sirius and (y/n) making things up
(y/n) looked at the man who stood in front of her, he looked so different now, both of them had aged a great deal, and yet they this sort of older beauty about them, the type that only comes later in age.
"I'm sorry about comparing you to your family and all, you're different than them. I'm sure your mother would die at the thought of you being with me." (y/n) teased, her blood was considered dirty in that other part of the wizarding world, there weren't many people like her. Werewolves were different, and there weren't many other half breeds to exist that were actually a mix of two different species. The only other one that (y/n) could think of was Hagrid, and even he was very different from (y/n).
People like her were considered wrong, and hence the term of dirty of vile came to be. It was insulting to say the least, but there was a lot of prejudice and hate to come from some esteemed families of the magical society.
"Why, because of your 'blood?'. Both of your parents are wizards, she'd actually be proud." Sirius teased, (y/n) laughed and shook her head, if only it were that easy, but no, her father got in the way of her ever being considered pure.
"My blood's dirty, at least, that's what they said at the ministry." (y/n) sighed, she was just digging a hole for herself once again, their conversation had veered off to a strange subject. Not taboo, but strange.
The thing was that (y/n) had faced many issues at the ministry, there is a lot of bigotry uprooted in those concealed halls. She'd dealt with a lot of back handed remarks and looks of disapproval everywhere she went, the worst part was that almost everyone knew about her, at first only a few knew, though word travels fast when something interesting is happening, and soon the whole ministry was speaking about it.
"What, because of your father? People are so quick to judge, I mean, look at me, I was framed." Sirius added on, he could tell that the woman's spirits were particularly lowered. He reminisced for a moment on the short period of time outside of Hogwarts when him and (y/n) had lived together. He had gone through a great deal of back lash just for dating (y/n), it saddened him to know that so many people just viewed her as a burden, when in all actuality she was the most beautiful person he'd ever come to know.
"If anyone gives you smack about the mermaid thing just tell me, I'll give 'em a real beating." Sirius smirked, for a moment he'd brought his old self back, it came it small bursts, lasting only for a brief moment in time. Nevertheless, (y/n) cherished all of those little moments.
"You've got a tall list." (y/n) chuckled, she was simply joining in on the fun now, she would like to see the man give every one of her haters a smack on the head, though that amounted to hundreds of people.
"So be it." Sirius laughed, his smile was wider than it had been in a long time, though he hadn't quite realized it yet, he hadn't realized the fact that this woman was the cause for his sudden happiness. His anxieties had seemingly washed away for the time being, and he felt that warm feeling inside, which he hadn't experienced in thirteen years.
There was this one single thought holding him back, you see, he felt that you couldn't get back with an ex, especially not with the complex history of him and (y/n). The two of them were certainly in a strange place in terms of what their relationship was, though for now it was strictly platonic.
The fact of the matter was that Sirius would never find love again, and (y/n) was not interested in getting her heart broken...
