"C'mon, Y/N, eat something besides this." Matt rolled his eyes at you and gestured to your yogurt in comparison to his steak and fries.
"I'm not that hungry, Matt. I ate before this." You spoke before taking a drink of your sparkling water. Matt rolled his eyes and looked over his shoulder.
"You know if you order something else he'll have to come over here at least 2 more times." Your heart skipped a beat at the thought.
"Matt...don't things like that!" You whispered in a hushed tone. Nevertheless, you began eating your yogurt parfait with a small pout. Matt laughed at your facial expression.
"As your best friend, I'm telling you that it would just be easier for you to tell him you like him." You narrowed your eyes at him.
"Easier said than done, Matthew." You mocked.
"Your childish antics can't hide the truth." He cocked his head to the side. That moment Jeremy came towards your guys' table in the restaurant.
"I'll be done after you guys are finished at this table. I got Amelia to clean this table and take my other tables as well." He smiled that gorgeous smile and you melted on the inside.
"I'm mostly waiting on miss slow poke over here." You snapped out of your staring as Matt gestured to his plate versus your bowl. You didn't even realize how much he'd eaten. You subtly crossed one leg over the other and swatted Matt's leg with your foot.
"You guys know how I get; I'm a talking machine." You smiled and shrugged. Jeremy laughed in return and leaned on the back of your chair.
"Well, holler at me when you two are finished up and we'll blow this joint." Jeremy turned his head towards you and you nearly jumped at how close you two were.
"Yeah, for sure." You pinched your thigh as a nervous habit. With that, Jeremy whisked himself away from your table and back to work.
"Everytime you see him you look like you're five seconds from a heart attack. Don't make it obvious!" Matt laughed and tried to contain his explosive giggles.
"I can't help it, Matt. I really like him and I...I don't know." You resumed your pouting and scooping of yogurt. Matt finally calmed down and plopped a ketchup covered fry in his mouth.
"Yanno, you could leave right now saying that you're sick, but actually go to Jeremy's. He'll feel bad doing anything without you, so we won't be out very long. Surprise him with a movie or something and then spill your guts!" You paused your scooping.
"That's a really good idea, but-"
"I know, I'm a genius!"
"But! How am I supposed to get in his house, Matt? Breaking and entering doesn't sound like something good to go on my resume." He pulled out his phone and began typing frantically.
"I'm texting Elena, she'll leave a key for you under that rose plant they have."
"Elena won't be there?" Matt only shook his head no in response. Little did you know Matt and Elena had already planned this whole thing out. She agreed to go stay with the Salvatores for the evening, surprisingly, just to get you two to admit your feelings for each other.
"What do we watch? Should I make popcorn? Do I-"
"You gotta go now if you wanna make it there and set up in time, Y/N." Matt faked a yawn at your rambling. You jumped out of your chair and quickly made your way out to your car.

The idea was cute and all. Jeremy had a pullout couch in the living room so you made it a comfy looking bed with various blankets and pillows. You robbed his sweets stash from his room along with a shirt of his and boxers to change into. The popcorn was nearly ready and you had rushed to a store to grab sodas before you came. You picked Jeremy's all time favorite to watch with you, 50 First Dates, how ironic. Now that everything seemed complete it finally hit you.
This was set up so you would tell Jeremy that you had feelings for him. Real genuine lovey dovey feelings. Matt hadn't texted you or anything so you decided to situate yourself on the sofa with a popcorn. Just as you managed to relax yourself, you heard the front door. You heard a the sound of him calling someone.
"Elena? Did you leave the front door unlocked for some reason?" You bit your lip and widened your eyes to yourself. Elena would never leave without locking her door, so Jeremy had every right to be worried. He slowly walked around the corner and his eyes met yours. You awkwardly waved with a smile.
"Yeah, I see. Be safe, Elena." He quickly pocketed his phone with a stunned look on his face. "I uh, Matt told me you went home sick."
"Surprise?" You smiled and put your hands up with a shrug. He allowed a small smile to cover his face.
"Let me go change quick." He pointed at you before jogging upstairs. You let out a large sigh and looked up at the ceiling.
"What were you thinking Matt?" You could only imagine all the smart comments he would say back in that moment. Or tell you to get your shit together.
"What are we watching?" He returned in a white tank top and a pair of red shorts. You scooted over to allow him more room on the bed. He accepted the space gladly and grabbed a handful of popcorn from you.
"50 First Dates, our go-to." You angled the remote towards the TV to press play. You and Jeremy were movie commentators. You didn't mind watching movies a few times to see the parts you missed, because cracking jokes while watching it was the best part about watching movies. However, the lump in your throat prevented you from responding well to Jeremy's comments.
He of course noticed and paused the movie.
"So, you made this little movie night for us and you're not talking much, nor are you stuffing your face with me...what's up?" He shifted to face you while laying against the pillows.
"I really don't know how to go about this." You mumbled more to yourself, desperately trying to find a way.
"I'll assume you're not talking about the movie then. You can tell me now, or I'll wait it out, whatever you're comfortable with." Jeremy tilted his head so he was facing the ceiling. You pinched your own thigh once more and took a deep breath in.
"I just...I like you, more than I should." You closed your eyes and tried to focus on slowing your heartbeat. Silence filled the air, which only served to combat your relaxation technique. You felt Jeremy shift next to you, but you refused to open your eyes.
"If this is what made you so nervous, you're all good to relax Y/N." You opened your eyes and found yourself looking directly into Jeremy's chocolate eyes.
"You-You feel the same?" You questioned. Jeremy smiled at you and nodded.
"Hard not to with you. I mean, just by tonight, any guy who didn't like you already would be insane to not." You felt your lips grow into a smile for him.
"You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say that." Jeremy raised an eyebrow.
"You're telling me. I didn't think you'd be the one to say it so you saved me some of the nerves. Okay, a lot of the nerves." You both laughed together. Jeremy grabbed your hand in his.
"You won't have to pinch yourself around me anymore..." He lifted your hand to his baby soft lips.
"You're kissing the wrong thing, Jer." His eyes widened a bit in surprise.
"Straight to the good stuff it is then." You both laughed once more before Jeremy leaned over you to press the sweetest kiss against your lips.
