"You can do this but you can't return my calls?" You found your friend, Stefan at The Grill with a bottle of bourbon set in front of him. He's been ignoring your texts and phone calls the entire day with no given reason and you were going to get to the bottom of this.

"I've been...busy." Stefan said blatantly, rubbing his forehead on the tips of his fingers, resisting eye contact with you, but it was difficult for him to so he gave in.

"Yeah clearly you have been." You said sarcastically, glaring at the half empty bottle. "Can you at least tell me why you've been ignoring me?"

"Like I said," He stepped off of the seat, grabbing his jacket that was placed on the chair's back rest, "I've been busy." Stefan threw on his jacket and gave the bourbon bottle back to Matt who was behind the bar.

"Yeah right, Stefan." You rolled your eyes, then followed Stefan as he was making his way to walk out of The Grill. "Tell me what I did wrong because I am legitimately confused as hell here." He started on acting like you're not in his presence. He didn't even hold the door open for you on his way out.

"Stefan seriously!" You shouted, grabbing Stefan by the arm. You were done allowing him to keep on walking without an explanation.

"What do you want from me, huh?" Stefan finally turned to face you, his voice half aloud, brows drawing together. "Even if I tell you why, it isn't going to make a difference."

Your eyes narrowed with confusion set into your brain. "What are you talking about?"

Stefan took a deep breath, then pressed his lips together before answering. "For awhile now, I honestly thought we had something Y/N. You were there like no one else was." Flashbacks started playing in his head. From the time he was weak from a fight and you allowed him to bite into your neck, from the time where he almost lost it when you were on the brink of death because of Rebekah's spite, the time you had a comedy movie marathon with him and you shared a ton of junk food and laughs, and the time you allowed him to use your lap as his pillow while he napped.

"Stefan, I-"

The Salvatore cut you off. "-No. I'm not in the mood to hear you reject me right now. I saw you last night with that guy at The Grill by the pool table. He had his arm over your shoulder and everything." Stefan chuckled, but you can tell it's fraud and can see the pain in his eyes.

"You mean, Eric?"

"Whatever that kid's name is."

"Are you an idiot?" You shook your head at Stefan's assumption. "That's my best friend from back home. He's on a road trip and mystic falls was on the way so he decided to pay me a quick visit."

"Yeah alright." Stefan's jaw clenched. He felt done with this conversation, so he turned and attempted to walk away.

"Listen to me!" You grabbed his arm tighter this time so that he can listen to what else you have to say. "You don't even know how long I've been wanting to tell you that I'm in love with you." Finally after admitting how you truly feel, it was as if a huge weight was lifted off of your shoulder.

"You what?" His eyes widened.

"Yup. I'm in love with my friend, Stefan Salvatore." You waved your hands at your sides. Stefan interlocked his fingers atop his head, processing what you just admitted.

"I've always thought that we're meant to be. Ever since I met you. You don't understand how relieving it is to me that now you know we're meant to be." You said to Stefan, stepping closer to him. Finally, he pulled himself together. But instead of words falling from his mouth, his mouth curved into a smile, then he pulled you into a kiss so passionately, the entire town could feel it.
