Requested: Anon

Request: Defending and protecting Jeremy at all costs even though you're human. Damon doesn't scare you and you make sure he never goes near Jeremy. Damon makes fun of you cause he sees how you feel about Jeremy even though he doesn't see it but Jeremy is with ith Bonnie. (Interactions with readers and Damon but also with Jeremy too, then scenes of just him and Damon too). One shot please.

Alaric had called your parents for help when Jeremy started training to be a vampire hunter, you were their youngest child and also the same age as Jeremy, you were still learning the basics of being a hunter but you were still further along than Jeremy so they asked you to make sure that he stayed out of trouble while he was still training, you and Jeremy were fast friends he was happy to have someone to talk to about all of the things that he saw every day and even ask for advice some times and you were more than happy to help him. Unfortunately for you, Jeremy was the target of a lot of different vampires and the one that was causing the most trouble was Damon.

Damon was often just around Jeremy because he was dating his sister but it was clear that he didn't have the teens best interest at heart, your job became far more difficult with him around which was why you found yourself so on edge as Jeremy left that day. "What are you still doing here huntress, your charge has left," Damon smirked as you slowly stood from where you were sitting.
"He's going to see his girlfriend I don't follow him everywhere." You muttered as you fixed your clothes and rolled your shoulders.
"So what do you do when you're not following around baby Gilbert?" He asked.
"None of your business." You answered.
"So you don't sit around wishing that you were the little witch?" He asked.
"I don't want to be a witch I like being a hunter." You argued dodging the question entirely.
"That's not what I meant." He smirked as he poured himself a drink "I mean you want to be the girlfriend."
"God I hate you." You rolled your eyes as you attempted to walk out.
"So you do." He said appearing in front of you, you just stepped around him but this time he appeared at the door, he opened it and you frowned as you walked past him. "If you take a step back you'll see."

The next day you were sitting in your room when Jeremy burst in, it seemed that in his anger he had thought about knocking, he paced for a little while and you waited for him to talk but when he didn't you finally decided to try and figure out why he was there "something I can help you with?" You asked and he sighed.
"I just can't seem to get it right." He muttered and you looked at him and frowned.
"Get what?" You asked.
"We were training again today." He answered.
"What were you doing?" You asked.
"Learning how to shoot with the crossbow." He said softly. "I just can't get it right."
"Well, who were you shooting at?" You asked.
"Damon." He shrugged "does that make a difference?"
"Sometimes, you know when you want to shoot someone it helps, but you have to remember that he's expecting a shot, so you shouldn't be expecting him to get hit, you just need to know that when he has to catch an arrow that means that you were on target." You explained.
"Well that's the problem, I'm not on target." He said.
"That takes time." You shrugged. "Took me ages to get aiming right, you know you don't have to be good at everything, it's nice to keep vampires at a distance but there was sometimes it's impossible to do that."
"So?" He asked.
"Kepp practising and when you shoot imagine there's someone there that you want to protect because when it all comes to a head, we're doing this to protect others not ourselves." You shrugged and he nodded with a smile.
"Will you help me?" He asked.
"Hmm? With training?" You asked.
"Yeah." He nodded and you shrugged.
"Sure, let me know when your training next and I'll try and give you a hand." You said.

A couple of days later you were called to help with the training, Damon was there as a target and Alaric was there teaching, for the most part, Jeremy was doing pretty well, his reaction time was good and he even anticipated where Damon was going to be. "I think I know what the problem is." You said as you stood from where you were sitting against the tree behind him.
"The huntress speaks." Damon teased.
"There's no one to save here, the urgency of this... Well, there isn't any." You explained with a shrug.
"So what your saying is he needs someone to save?" Damon asked.
"Preferably someone your willing to kill." You shrugged.
"Oh I have someone in mind," Damon smirked.
"Damon!" Alaric warned before he could do anything Damon had grabbed you a hand around your throat as he squeezed.
"I always wanted the chance to kill you, little huntress, you'll be dangerous when you're older." He said softly.
"I'm dangerous now." You informed him as kicked back causing his hold to weaken, you twisted out away from him "Shoot Jeremy!" You heard the arrow cut through the air and looked back to see that Damon was forced to catch it, the arrow aimed straight at his heart.
"See missing urgency." You shrugged before turning to Damon "do that again and next time I make sure to break something."
"Don't tempt me," Damon smirked as he walked back towards Alaric who scolded him for his rash actions, Jeremy walked over to you.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine." You nodded "don't worry about me, I've been in worse situations."
"You have?" He asked.
"Yeah, training started young and my parents never told me when it was training, my parents also didn't make vampire friends so if there was one then it was dangerous." You explained.
"Wow," Jeremy said softly.
"You're getting there just don't rush." You advised as you patted his shoulder. "So get back to it."
