S2 chapter ⚁

After hours of getting supplies and setup it was finished “Meria? Meria?!” Din asked and I snapped out of it looking to him “it’s going to work ok” he nodded grabbed my hand and I nodded “yeah, it’ll work” I nodded agreed and he tilted his head “what’s wrong, you’ve been acting weird since the bar was it something I said?” he asked and I shook my head “no, I’m fine just distracted, I promise” I assured him and he nodded reluctantly “hey, I love you” I said and he nodded “I love you too” I looked back over at the people finalizing everything and looked down at Grogu who was drawing in the sand.

“Hey Mando 2 care to help me out” Cobb asked and I walked over helping him grab the explosives “you ok, something happen in between you and the Mando?” he asked and I shook my head “I just think the heat is becoming a lot, I’m ok though really” I nodded assuring him as I helped some other people.

When we finished we all stood and waited, I was close beside Din and Cobbs when they started the plan.

It didn’t work and it started retreating then it came back out, it came out far enough and Cobbs triggered the explosives not killing it.

“let’s get after it” I grabbed my gun and Din stopped me “watch the kid, please” he asked and I nodded “yeah, I got it” I nodded still holding my rifles to watch from afar “I got your back from afar” he nodded and flew off.

“your dad will be fine, I hope” I mumbled holding Grogu close to me as we watched.

I couldn’t see much of what happened when they landed but Cobb handed Din the detonator and Din hit Cobb’s jetpack making him fly up, I flipped Grogu around as I looked at Din shaking my head.

I got that feeling again and tears started to prick the corners of my eyes and my lip started to shake, my heart rate sped up and my breathing became rapid as I watched the Krayt Dragon get closer to him.

It ate both Din and the Bantha causing my to let out a sob, it was undetectable under all the noise but Grogu looked up and me turning his head I set Grogu down and placed my hand on my chest feeling my heart rate speed up as I tried to calm down.

The ground started to rumble  and I looked up in enough time to see Din fly out of its mouth and explode it as I covered Grogus eyes “if your dad asks I am done with his crap” I smiled to the kid as I saw Din look to Cobb then to me as I looked away from him.

Din walked over to his bike “hey little guy, Meria let me got something and then we’ll be back anytime tonight” I nodded my head not looking at him.

He got everything he wanted and I walked over “I guess this is farewell for now” I waved and Cobb pulled me in for a side hug “that it is, but hopefully you two will visit when your not busy” he shrugged and I nodded “sure, I’ll make sure of it” I gave him a fist bump one last time going back to my bike ignoring him.

We were off back to the ship and I was still clearly angry with Din.

We crashed because of some trap that got set and while they were shooting at us one of them went for the kid, I powered my lightsaber dodging the hits killing one of them knocking out another.

When I got up Din was talking to the alien who had Grogu the alien pointed to Dins jetpack as the child ran to me and I picked him up “it’s ok, mommy has you” I calmed him as he snorted at whatever Din did, “there’s only one bike now” Din said and I nodded “I can walk” I assured and Din shook his head.

“what is wrong with you?” he asked and I turned “what is wrong with me? Your acting like I did something wrong!” I raised my voice and he nodded “look at how your acting, you haven’t talked to my once, I thought we were together and had each others back, we would stick together!” he yelled and I shook my head “so did I, but one of us decided to be an idiot and almost get himself killed despite knowing how bad you scared me the first time!” I yelled and Din softened his posture and stance.
