chapter six: bluebell
You and Atsumu walk side by side as you step over a set of rails and sleepers. You now stand only a few steps away from a rundown railroad station that looks like it has been abandoned for a century.
"Is this the right place?" you ask Atsumu in a hushed voice, not knowing who might be watching.
"Yep, I'm certain of it."
"It's a bit too small to keep a prisoner hostage for very long, don't you think?" you continue to ask.
"Don't judge before you get in there, Y/N. Besides, how much room does a hostage need if that's indeed what they're doin' with him?"
You sigh and follow along as you step over another set of railroad tracks. Now right in front of the wooden door, Atsumu knocks four times. The door then opens, revealing a man of rather average height on the other side with a bright smile on his face.
"Hello!" he says with a higher-pitched voice than you were expecting.
You clear your throat before you speak. "Hello. I am Y/N, new boss of Akira Sakusa's syndicate," you say in a rather robotic tone. You've never had to introduce yourself to someone out of the syndicate so formally before.
"Nice to meet ya! My name is Shinji Koganei!" he beams.
"Yeah, nice to meet you, too," you smile awkwardly.
"Please, come in!"
You and Atsumu exchange a look as Koganei steps aside to let you in. It was a nicer greeting than you were expecting. Could it all just be a front or is Koganei just a happy-go-lucky kinda guy?
"I don't think this is going to be worth our time in terms of searching for Osamu. But maybe they could be a useful ally," you whisper to your companion.
"Sure, but just stay close to me, okay? We don't know these guys."
"Okay," you nod.
The two of you then follow Koganei down a set of creaking, wooden stairs and enter a basement covered in gold shag carpeting. In the far corner of the room near a dark wall stands a large fireplace. Before it is a man with his back turned towards you. His light blue hair stands out from it all despite his short stature.
Beside the blue-haired man is one way taller and bulkier. He clears his throat and nudges the short man.
"Say something," Atsumu whispers to you before you can hear what the bodyguard says whom you presume is Kuroko.
Hello. I am Y/N, new boss of Akira-" you recite just as you said it to Koganei. However, the blue-haired man cuts you off before you get to finish.
"I know who you are," he says instead. "You don't need to introduce yourself."
