She drove me home from the hanger. We exchanged kind words but no promise of tomorrow. She is going to therapy and I am happy for her. My due date is approaching.

I moved out of his house and bought a cute townhouse in Ri's old neighborhood, how can I afford it? Mila gave me a handsome baby shower present that had a few zeros.

Naledi is moving in with Zale so we are renting out the apartment, hopefully, it will bring love and joy to the students who live there now. I can not believe how much my life has changed in three years. I am twenty-four and I am a mother and senior editor with a beautiful house and amazing car. All I have been able to achieve is miraculous, my guardian angels sure are working overtime.

"I bought your first wine bottle," George says walking into my kitchen.

"Thank you, you are also the first to arrive. Never knew this was you."

"I surprise people all the time Abi. How are you feeling?"

"I can't wait for this baby to be out of here so I can sleep on my stomach." he laughs before composing himself

"Have you thought of a name?"

"Whatever comes into mind when I look at them."

"What if it's, weed, alcohol, fuck, many different things maybe bread or sushi?"

"I meant whatever name or maybe I will dream about what her name should be."

"Okay, psychic." there is a knock on the door, I get up to open and it is Naledi and Zale.

"Hi, guys!"

"Hey," he says

"My babies, I got you both gifts," she says hugging me tightly.

"What is it?"

"For you, a spa date for whenever you need it after, munchkin is out. For munchkin, I got them, this matching necklace."

"Who has the other one?"

"Me, of course. How are you?"

"Great, I'm due sometime next week and my vagina is on fire, my back is breaking, my feet are hurting, I am constantly thirsty and peeing, I get no sleep and my God do they kick, I feel great."

"I knew you had it in you. What would make you feel better?"

"Some vodka, chocolate, coffee, and sushi, and this baby out of me."

"I can stay with you until the baby is here if you would like. I could massage your feet, hold you while you feel aloof, and just be your moral support human."

"That would be nice, do you also want to be here when the baby is born?"

"Where did you think I was going to be?"

"You never know babe," we walk outside to the braai area where George and Zale are starting on the grill. The meat is marinating in the fridge and I already made the garlic bread, bought the buns and there are a couple of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

"Is the nursery ready?" Billy asks as Naledi hands me another glass of juice.

"If you were here to assemble the bed like you promised, you would know," Kamo, Kai's wife comments.

"Something came up, guys, plus I'm sure you did a great job putting it together."

"Will something come up during the birth?"

"I would not miss that for the world, don't worry, I will be there." Promises that Billy makes are to be taken with a heap of salt.

The next time I saw everyone again was the day I was rushed to hospital, two weeks later. Naledi was freaking out but she managed to call the ambulance and remember my bag and birthing gown. She also texted and called everyone and even through it is two am, everyone came.

The only person with me in the room is Naledi and everyone understood why. I wanted someone I regarded as my sister to be there, to be the first person who saw my baby.

"Okay, Ms. Mopedi, one last push, deep breath, push." in a gust of energy, I push again and we do not hear any crying. The nurse takes my baby to the cleaning and weighing station and the doctor, taps the baby on the back, and their cries film the room.

"Sometimes they need a little reminder. 3.9kg, 49cm and healthy, here is your baby girl." she is handed to me and my God is she a sight.

"Keneoue Karabo Mopedi."

"Is that her name?" Naledi asks caressing her

"Yes. The answer I have been given to fight for better days in this life." she does not look like either of us at this point. "You can fetch everyone." she scurries out of the room to fetch everyone else

"How are you feeling?"

"Tired. Everyone meet Keneoue Karabo Mopedi."

"She is beautiful,"
"Beautiful name,"
"She looks like him." are some of the comments that were being said.

After a while, most of them left besides Zale and Naledi, who were staying with me until I was able to take care of Keneoue by myself.

After her first meal on earth, she fell asleep allowing me to fall fast asleep after such a tremendous task. Tearing your vagina is no joke.
