I was walking down the Street towards the safe house when I heard a gun shot. I reach for my hip before I realize I am No longer a cop. I grab my phone and call Jim as I'am running towards the safe house. "Hey Chris" he says. "Shots at safe house come quick" I say and keep running. I make it to the safe house and the front door has been kicked in. I make my way in and Lucy is on the ground bleeding with Maria applying pressure. "What happened" I ask and jump in to help. "I don't know we were in here cooking and all of the sudden the door was kicked in and a masked man came in asked for Sammie but we told him she didn't live here anymore and he shot lucy and got into a black car and left" she says. I call 911 and tell then I need an ambulance. Just then street and Luca bust through the door with the rest of the team. "Chris" I hear him yell. "In here" I yell back. They come in. " are you ok? What happened?" Luca ask. I tell them what happened and end makes their way into the house to load Lucy up. I send Maria with her. "I was a police escort with them at all times." I say. "Of course" hondo says and orders one of the officers to go with them. Once they are gone it hits me at once. Sammie is at work and I need to get to her. I start looking for my keys. "Chris" street says. "Keys I need my keys" I tell him. "Chris let us give you a lift to the hospital" deecan says. "No I need to get to Sammie. They are looking for her and I need to get to her first" I say. "Who's they" tan ask. I finally find my keys and head for my car and they follow. "Who ever did this" I say and climb into my jeep still covered in blood. Jim stops me. "Street let me go" I say. "Tell is where she is at deecan and hondo can go pick her up you need to get cleaned up and changed your covered in blood. She's already gonna be scared no need to scare her anymore" he says. "She is at back home the little diner around the corner" I say. "Got it. Me and deecan will get her, tan and Luca you guys see if there were any witnesses and street make sure she's ok" hondo says. Jim walks back into the house with me. He grabbed my bag from the car and walks me to the bathroom. "I'll be right out here if you need anything" he says. I nod my head and go into the bathroom to take a shower.

I get in the shower and I can't help but wish I was here. I just wanted to go for a run and look where that led me. How am I supposed to balance the safe house and my life. I want more thank anything to protect these girls but how are they supposed to trust me if I can't keep them safe. I finish showering and get dressed. When I walk out tan and Luca are back. "Feel better" Jim ask. I nod my head and walk to him. He wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his side. I rest my head against him. "So anything" I ask. "Nope no one wants to talk to us" tan says. "Dosent the safe house have cameras on it" Luca ask. I move from him to grab my laptop and log onto the cameras. We see a black car pull up and a masked man get out. He kicks the door in and comes in the house. You can hear a gun shot and then he exits and get one into the car with no plates and drive off. I replay it 5 more times. "I ran the way they were driving. I didn't even pay attention to the cars. I should have" I say. "Hey this isn't your fault Chris" Luca says. "How can I bring more girls here and get them to safety if I can't even keep them safe at a safe house" she says. Street leans downs and kisses the top of my head. "Hondo and deecan have Sam. There taking her to hq. Maria and Lucy are under lock and keep at the hospital. There gonna be ok" tan says. I nod my head. "Let's head to hq" street says. I stand up grab my laptop and follow him out to the car back to the place i once called home and lived at.
