Safe house part 2

Chris pov

We make it to hq and I am jumping out of the car before Jim has put it in park. I run into hq. "Sammie, Sammie" I yell. "Over here" I hear as I found the corner. "Chris way is going on" she ask. "I don't know" I say. "These men came into the safe house looking for you" I say. "Where are the others" she asks. "Getting checked put at the hospital with armed officers. They're going to be ok" I say. She nods her head. "Ok so what do we do now" she asks. "Is there anyone who would want you dead" tan ask. I give him a look. "Yeah, my dad" she says. "I wouldn't marry the man he wanted to give him wealth and then I outted the man I was supposed to marry for funneling money for the cartel and he went to prison, and the cartel lost a lot of money" she says. "I left Cuba and haven't been back since" she tells us. "Ok so who do we know that would have contacts with the Cuban cartel" tan ask. As they walk the rest of the way into hq and get to work. "How do we go about getting the girls moved here like can we get a doctor or nurse to come with to monitor lucy as long as she's stable and can leave" Chris ask. "We could bring her here if she is stable, but It would be trying to find someone to monitor her" Hondo says. "I'll call Rosie. Maybe she can come and monitor her for you" luca offers and steps off to make the phone call. "Are lucy and maria ok" Sammie asks. "Maria is. lucy got shot but she's going to be ok" I tell her. Luca walks back in. "ok so rose is going to come and monitor her she Is going to the hospital to get supplies and get a copy of the chart and whatever else they could need and then she will follow them here" luca says. "Thank you" I tell them. I take Sammie to the kitchen to get her a drink and something to eat while we wait on them to get here.

Couple hours later

Chris pov

We are waiting in the main room as they are bringing them in. rose walks in bossing officers around as to where to put lucy and what not. They get here set up in one of the offices and we follow. "Lucy are you ok" Sammie asks. "Oh, Sam you're ok, I'm going to be fine. doctor said the bullet missed everything. They fixed me up and just want to monitor me but rose here is going to take care of that" lucy says. "Thank you rose" I say. "No problem that's what family is for right" she says. I nod my head. Luca walks over and kisses the side of her head "let me know if you need anything ok" he says. She nods and continues to work. The team clears out and me Sam and Marie all stay with lucy. We sit quietly while rose checks the incision, takes her vitals, and does a quick assessment of lucy. "Ok guy everything looks good so far. I'm going to step out and let you all talk and visit and I'll be back in a few mins to check up on her." Rose says. She leaves the room and I turn to lucy. "I'm sorry, I should have been there" I tell her. "Chris I'm going to be ok. And if you where there what could you have done? Someone would have still gotten shot. I'm just glad it was me and not you cause if something would have happened and if you would have died who would have run the safe house" she says. I lean in and give her a hug. I love my girls more than anything and I will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. The team continues to work and track down the men. It turns out the man she was supposed to marry is behind all of it and once we get him, he will go to jail for life in the US as he is already wanted on multiple charges in the US and then to add today to it. I need them to catch them soon so I can take the girls home.

Later that day

Chris pov

It's been an uneventful rest of the day. We spent it at HQ until the men were arrested and they were sure we were safe. For the next week or so they will have an unmarked police car outside the safe house to watch over us. I'm going to stay overnight there, and Jim is going to join me so that there is someone with a badge and gun there. Lucy healed fine and will have a 100% recovery. Sammie on the other hand opted to leave even though I tried to stop her. I was able to get her in contact with a safe house in Florida and they had a bed open for her to transfer to. It's going to be weird without her here, but I have the other girls to focus on and keep safe. Taking over the safe house was one of the best things I have done.
