tonight is the night. the night I ask Rosie to marry me. Im going to take her to dinner and then a walk down the beach where I will ask her. its out favorite okay to go, the beach and watch the waves crash onto the shore. 

d: so its really happening your asking her 

l: yeah man I am. I really love her 

h: well im proud of you man finally settling down who would of thought that we would see the day. 

l: I know man but she's just something else I can't wait to spend forever with her

deacon and hondo clap me on my shoulder and we walk up to meet the rest of the team. we get called out on a assignment and we load up into black Betty and roll out. we spend most of the day chasing lead that run into dead ends. we finally make It back to h.q. when hicks walks in to inform us there is an active shooter at the children's hospital. its the same hospital rose works at. 

s: Luca you ok man your quite 

l: its roses hospital 

but I barley whisper it. 

h: what was that Luca

l: the shooter is at roses hospital 

c: you know she's gonna be ok man. I'm sure she's fine 

I just nod me head and drive as fast as I can to the hospital. we pull up to the hospital and they are already evacuating kids. the poor kids look terrified. Hondo breaks us up and me and tan are sent into the front of the hospital. we make it into the lobby and up to the 5th floor where the shooter was last seen. we round a corner and run into heather (shes friends with rose). 

Heather: luca he just went around the corner and he has rose with him 

I nod me head and send her down the stairs. 

L: 22 David the shooter is on the south end of the 5th floor he has a hostage with him no eye on him yet

h: 20 David copy were heading to you location now 

me and tan circle the corner and I can hear rose. 

R: look I don't know what you want but just let them go. they didn't do anything 

shooter: yes they did they killed my daughter they didn't save her

r: tell me about her. tell me about you daughter and maybe I can help 

shooter: she was such a happy girl she never really cried as an infant and she slept through the night. she had her mothers personality but my eyes. she was happy and then she got cancer and even that didn't get to her she still smiled through all of the treatments. and then that doctor said he couldn't do anything to save her he said it was over and they wasn't anything they can could do and she died and its all his fault. 

r: I get it your upset and you have very right to be but your daughters cancer spread. there was nothing we could do to save her. im so sorry for you loss 

I watch rose step over and make eye contact with me and the guy notices something and turns around real quick. 

L: LAPD swat drop the weapon now 

the shooter turns and grabs rose and put the gun to her head 

L: im not gonna ask you again drop the weapon or we will drop you

as the words leave my mouth he shoves Rosie and shoots. it all moves in slow motion. rose falls to the ground and tan shoots the guy taking him out. I rush over to rose and turn her over to see she has been shot in the stomach. 

L: 22 David I need immediate medical attention now cilivilican down I repeat civilian down 

I happy pressure to her wound and she looks up at me 

r: dom is everyone ok he didn't shoot anyone else 

L: yeah everyone is ok and were gonna get you help

its not long before they are upstairs loading her onto the stretcher and taking her down for surgery. I follow (children hospital and regular hospital is connected they brought a surgeon from the regular hospital over to do the surgery)

R: I love you dom 

L: love you too and ill be here when you get out 

I pace back and forth in the waiting room and the team sits around 

S: shes gonna be ok Luca shes strong she will pull through. 

I nod my head but don't talk its had been at least 3 hours since they took her in and still no Update. I pace a little while longer when a doctor walks in. 

doctor: family of rosealie 

L: that's me 

doctor: well the bullet tore through her abdomen and did some damage. we were able to stop all the bleeding and fix the tear. shes in recovery now. you may go up to see her. shes in room 325

L: thank you 

I dont waste no time making my way to her room with the team following. I get into the room and they have her hooked to some machines and shes laying there. I walk over and take her hand in mine and her eyes flutter open. 

R: mmh dom 

L: im right here baby 

I lean forward and kiss her head 

L: how do you feel 

R: like Im ready to run a marathon 

c: we might have to work up to that 

she laughs and turns her head to me 

R: so when are you breaking me out of here 

L: rose they just removed a bullet from your body your not going home right now 

R: well your no fun 

she puts and I lean forward and kiss her. she runs her hand over my head and I whisper 

L: marry me 

r: what?

L: marry me. I know this isn't how I planned it out but I dot want to spend another day with out you and today when you got shot and I didn't know if you were gonna make it, it just confirmed it. so marry me

R: yes, yes dom ill marry you 

with that I lean forward and kiss her again. next thing I hear is tan wolf whistling. I pull back and turn ti the team who congratulate us. 

Nurse: ok sorry to break up the part but visiting hours are over you guys are gonna have to leave 

everyone except me leaves since she can have one person stay with her. I sit in the chair next to her bed and take her hand into mine 

R: I love you dom 

L: I love you too future mrs. Luca 

and with that we both go to sleep for the night.
