Happily Ever After- i guess

We've seen all the stories with happy endings
About everyone who found escape from their living hell.
We've seen the sugar coated tales
About all the kids who "turned out" well.

But what about the ones that didn't make it?
What about the ones who were never loved?
Guess nobody wants to share the stories
'Bout all the the lost girls, and all the lost boys.

Who wants to listen to the end,
Only to feel like crying?
We want to know everything's okay,
Even if it means we've gotta start lying.

So tell me how your day went,
And don't let me catch you sighing,
Because our bubble's warm and perfect
Who cares if the world outside is dying.

What about the ones without a safe place to call home?
What about the scared and lonely children?
Guess nobody wants to share the stories
'Bout all the the lost girls, and all the lost boys.

Hurry now, night is coming,
Come in before it gets too cold outside.
Hide away from dark and mystery,
Just keep on going crossing your T's and dotting your I's.

Sure, it's easy to ignore it,
Sometimes the truth is far too much of a wild ride.
But if we can't learn from past mistakes
How do we ever expect to open our eyes.

Don't forget the grown up kids
The ones without a childhood to miss
And what about the ones with unthinkable demons?
Everybody takes different actions for different reasons.

Guess nobody will share the stories
'Bout all the the lost girls, and all the lost boys.

Who are we to pretend we understand?
When we chose to leave the reasons forsaken like an unclaimed plot of broken land.
No one is going to share the stories
