I feel your arms around me so I feel safe.
Your laughter makes me smile so I feel loved
I asked you to never let go, so you don't.
Your love is familiar so I am content.
But never is a long time.
I'm fighting a battle within because I don't want to leave yet I know I can not stay.
Your hold is warm yet I yearn for the cold once more.
I hope you find the happiness we used to have.
I hope you forgive me for what I'm about to do.
I must escape from your grasp, but trust me when I say,
It was never you.
I'm the one who needs to embrace the chill air,
And step away from your hope.
You knew you could never protect me forever.
I know now it is time to leave your protection.
A/N- this doesn't relate to me at all by the way I'm just writing a story in my poems so most of them I don't relate too.
Edit- I honestly don't know why I said that cuz while I truly don't directly relate to this one, most of these poems are my experiences and my feelings. A couple of them are things I only relate to second handly cuz it's about someone else but still I write from the heart.
