Apologies

There's a little voice inside my head.

That tells me what to do.

But I've been ignoring it instead,

Every time it says to stay away from you.

And this is my cue- to apologize, for all the lies,

But I'm not sure who to apologize to.

Do I fake it, when I'm talking to them?

Do I remake it, when I'm talking to you?

Oh but here's the lesson,

I'm lying to myself, oh if only you knew.

And this is my cue- to apologize, for all the lies,

Yet I'm not sure who to apologize to.

I'm so sorry, that I haven't been genuine,

I try my best, but I'm always scared that I'll hurt you.

I'm so sorry, I wish I knew, where to draw the line,

But I never lied, when I said I loved you too.

And this is my cue- to apologize for all the lies,

Who do I apologize to?

Is it them? Is it them? Is it them, them, them?

Is it you? Is it you? Is it you, you, you?

Oh why do I, continue to pretend?

It's not just them, it's not just you.

It's not just me, it's not just him.

All the walls are caving in, so close to the end

I've got one last shot, who do I look to?

Is it you? Is it them?

Is it me? Is it him?

As my eyes widen,

One final time,

Who do I look to?

I look to all of us,  all of you.
