A girl loved a boy, and he loved her;
They want to stay in each other's arms forever,
But they could not be together.
The boy had some struggles, outside his love life;
He promised to return, and was sorry to cause her strife,
She was willing to wait, yet it still felt as though her heart was pierced with a knife.
She thought of him every minute of each day;
She wanted to talk to him, but there was nothing to say,
So she found herself dreaming of when he wouldn't have to be away.
The boy felt as though he had stepped on a mine;
He could blow them apart- or meet her on cloud nine,
Either way, he knew he'd left her suspended in time.
