Isn't that what it's all about,
Making every second count?
It's not about the present but about what we learn,
How it will prepare us for our future.
Sure it's ok to have some fun,
But don't lose yourself already from day one.
Because the real joy is in what's to come.
Or that's what they tell us anyways
Just to power through the rest of this maze.
Take it one day at a time,
So that someday you can make a dime.
But what if I don't feel like listening,
Never been one much to conform.
I think I can skip the christening,
And my so called "future" won't be torn.
My future can only be what I make it today,
If you disagree, speak up, I'd like to hear what you have to say.
Yet I doubt you'll change my mind,
Because I'm determined to enjoy what I can do in my own time.
Maybe it will lead to fame, but either way I'll be okay,
I'm going to be spontaneous today,
Tomorrow hasn't reached me yet, and now's the only time that I can make the best
of my future that will come-
One day.
Someday.
But not, quite, yet.
