What If She Didn't Die?

The Key Part 4

As Bellamy drives and Octavia looks out the window making sure they aren't followed. Clarke leans on Lexa slightly. She was finally able to catch her breath for a bit. She looks up at Lexa. Lexa turns her head and looks down at Clarke. She shows a soft faint smile at Clarke. Something that not a lot of people get to see. Clarke takes Lexas hand and kisses it softly. Lexa does the same thing back.

"We need all the Luck we can get," Clarke says quietly

Lexa nods a bit "I would say I have some pretty good luck right now. Considering I survived being shot in the stomach." she says.

Clarke chuckles a little as the rover stops. They were at the tunnel. Lexa opens the door and gets out helping Clarke out of the rover. "You know the plan," Clarke says. Lexa holds her hands out.

Clarke ties up Lexas' wrists. She then puts a blindfold on Lexas' face. They start walking through the tunnel making their way to the middle of Polis. When she gets there she looks around at all the blood and people on their knees. Clarke starts showing "I have brought what A.L.I.E. wants! The Commander!"

Suddenly everyone opens their eyes and then they get up and surround the two. Suddenly Abby walks out. Clarke looks at Abby. "mom?" she asks. Abby walks up to CLarke and people surround her "mom, What are you doing?" Clarke says looking around concerned. She lets go of Lexa and Lexa is taken away. She shouts to Clarke to not take the chip.

Clarke is forced to the ground as Bellamy and Octavia watch. Pike walks up to them hiding in the tunnel with Indra and Murphy. The three just escaped the small cell they were kept in. they watch what's going on.

Clarke yells and Abby grabs her cheeks holding her mouth open. They shove the chip in her mouth and force her to swallow it. Clarkes yells fade and she stands up.

Bellamys' eyes widened. "We need to get up there. Now," he says. He starts running through the tunnels. The others quickly follow. They go through the bottom of the elevator and blow up the passageway. After some time Bellamy and Murphy make their way up to the top after a couple of fights.

Others set a bomb at the bottom and then they start to make their way up the ladder on the side of the elevator shaft. They eventually make their way up there and then start blocking entrances. They burst into The meeting room to Lexa sobbing. Bellamy runs to the tied-up woman to untie her as Murphy runs over to Clarke who was hanging by a rope just a few feet away.

When Lexa was taken she was forced upstairs. She was tied to a pole by Clarke. Clarke looks Lexa in the eyes. "Take the key," she says.

Lexa looks at Clarke "Never." she says. She watches as Clarke takes out a scalpel and pushes it into Lexas' chest. Lexa groans and Clarke looks into Lexas' eyes again "take the key." she says.

"No!" she shouts. A.L.I.E. looks at Clarke. "She won't break. There is one way that she will," she says. Clarke nods and backs off, starting to tie the noose.

Lexa looks at Clarke "Clarke what are you doing?" She says as she watches Clarke pull up a small stool. Clarke throws up the rope and Ontari Ties it to the top. Lexas' eyes widened "Clarke no." She says.

Clarke looks at Lexa as she puts the rope around her neck. "Last chance," she tells Lexa.

Lexa stays quiet with tears nearly forming in her eyes. She needed to stay calm. She was the commander.

Clarke pushes the stool out from under her. She falls and starts gasping for air. Lexa yells for Clarke and tries to get free. She starts crying as she watches Clarke.

Ontari had gotten down from the ledge and Jaha delivered a fatal blow. She was no longer needed. She lays on the ground braindead.

Lexa starts sobbing when she sees Clarke slowly stop moving. Just as that happens Bellamy bursts into the room and runs to Lexa. As Murphy runs to Clarke and unties her she drops to the ground and he takes the noose off of her neck. When Lexa is free she runs to Clarke and holds her in her arms. "I know what I need to do. They told me," she says

Bellamy puts the cuff from the second EMP on Clarkes' wrist. He shocks her and destroys the chip. Clarke lays on the ground unconscious.

Lexa gets up[ from the ground and gets in her throw. She grabs a chip and swallows it.

Bellamy yells "Lexa no what are you doing!" but it's too late. Lexa is in The City Of Light. She knows exactly what to do and where to go to find the kill code. She starts running as fast as she can. She gets stuck in an alleyway though when Raven saves her and shows her a door she needs to go through.

Lexa opens the door and walks through it. She sees Becca and A.L.I.E. Becca tells her about why she made the key and what it had done, killing Billions of people. A.L.I.E. tells Lexa about how she could ease their pain from the explosions that were about to happen in six months time. Lexa thinks for a moment. She thinks for a moment and looks at the switch "we always find a way" she grabs the switch and pulls it. She suddenly wakes up and looks around at everyone. The crowd of people had gotten into the room. Lexa gets up and runs to Clarke who was starting to wake up. Clarke looks at Lexa and she starts crying "I'm sorry- I'm so sorry" she says.

Lexa hugs Clarke tightly and nearly starts crying herself. "Please don't be it's okay Clarke it wasn't you," she says. She tucks her head into Clarkes' neck and frowns.

Clarke sobs into Lexas' shoulder "I'm sorry" she keeps saying over and over.

Lexa rubs Clarkes back and then pulls away a little then kisses Clarke on the cheek. It's okay, we are all free now. No more chips, no more keys. A.L.I.E. is dead now." she says. She does frown "but she did tell me about something very very important."

Clarke looks at Lexa confused. "What is it?" she asks

Lexa looks Clarke in the eyes then away " before I pulled the switch A.L.I.E. said something about nuclear power plants blowing up in six months time? What does that mean?" she says

Clarke's face goes pale. She looks at Lexa "There were nuclear power plants that were well for power. They were designed to run on their own for a hundred years and that time is up in six months, they blow up in six months." Clarke says

Lexa looks at her with a concerned look "Prime Faya?-"

Clarke nods and frowns "Yes. Prime Faya" she replies.
