Chapter Nine
"Never, ever underestimate the importance of having fun." Quote by Randy Pausch
The next day, Bryar met up with Morgan to practice their Foxtrot again. They were allowed to do this in their Ballroom and Latin lessons, which was great because they would always both be there at that time. They ran it through a couple of times without the music and then with. It really looked great. Bryar loved the Foxtrot, it was an elegant and romantic dance. She couldn't wait to perform it. After their dance practice Bryar walked up to Morgan. When they danced together it still felt like he was holding back so Bryar decided that it was time to change that. So she mustered up all the courage that she had opened her mouth.
"Hey, I was thinking that we could go out somewhere and get to know each other." Morgan looked first very shocked and then composed himself.
"I'd rather not." He answered quietly. Bryar already thought he was going to say that and she wasn't going to let him get away that quickly.
"Aw, please! We could just go as friends. If we're going to spend all this time together, we should at least be friends." She gave him her best puppy eyes and she started to see him crumble.
"Well, I still have homework and-" Bryar didn't even let him finish his sentence. Once she had a goal set, she would do anything and everything to reach it.
"Half an hour tops." Morgan stood there weighing his options. In the end he just sighed, giving in.
"Okay, fine. Half an hour." Bryar jumped up and down excitedly.
"Sure. Meet me at the front of the school in ten minutes." She said, leaving Morgan behind with a grin on his face.
Bryar ran upstairs to change her top, to clean her teeth and to grab her handbag. She decided on a pale blue long-sleeved T-shirt with sequined patterns at the neck and dark denim jeans with a pair of black leather ankle boots. She walked down the stairs while putting her coat on and wrapping her scarf around her neck. When she stood at the entrance, Morgan was already there waiting for her. They left the building together and walked in a little snug café and sat at a table for two. In the beginning it was rather awkward but Bryar soon broke the silence with her endless chatter.
"So tell me something about yourself." Bryar asked Morgan.
"My full name is Morgan Dylan Zilar. I'm an only child. I have no pets and my all time favourite hobby is painting." Morgan was visibly relaxing and it was noticeable. He started to tell Bryar things about himself and that's exactly what she wanted.
"Okay, now your turn. Tell me about yourself."
Bryar thought for a moment before answering, "My full name is Bryar Elva Milada Kerrington. I have one older sister, Audra. We also don't have any pets though I really love dogs. I hate spiders and I love flowers. My all time favourite hobby is horse riding."
Time passed by so fast that it was seven o'clock before they knew it. What was supposed to be a quick half an hour chat had turned into a two and a half hours long talk. She had learned that he hated hospitals, that he loved Doctor Who, so of course Bryar had to tell about her Doctor Who experiences as well because her father was completely addicted to it as well.
Bryar was so happy with her progress. They started to really get to know one another and it all went so easily. It was like breathing. Bryar knew that next time when they danced he wouldn't hold her like she was so fragile because he now really knew her. When it was quarter to seven they left to make it back on time for dinner. Dinner was great because Aoide, Noa and Carmina couldn't help but glare at her the whole time. When they finished their dinner they dragged her up to their room and as soon as they fell on her bed, they wanted to know everything. So Bryar told them about her amazing afternoon which she had really enjoyed.
