Hidden Spark on Earth (TFP)

Chapter 39

The next two weeks pass by without any kind of danger for a change. Wheeljack left the base when Ratchet did finally fix his ship, and the base has been pretty calm, and the bots haven't had to use the ground bridge in sometime. It would seem the decepticons were almost giving them time to relax. Plus, Saphira's father, stepmother and stepsister have not been seen either, something that Saphira didn't know was good or bad since it could indicate that there was a plan being made. But, she was able to relax a little bit and it made going to her job at KO Burger a little easier and she was able to enjoy it a lot more.

As for her and Optimus, ever since that night, things haven't been as Optimus had hoped. He has found Saphira was avoiding him. She wasn't doing it deliberately, or at least that the others were noticing. Whenever Saphira was spending time with one of the other autobots or the kids, and Optimus would enter to join in the conversation, Saphira would slip away quietly. But, no one would notice her disappearance until it has been several minutes. It ached Optimus's spark as he did not know if she was avoiding him because he scared, or it something else was on her mind.

Saphira was actually having a lot to think about. And that was the reason why she found herself stepping away whenever Optimus was present. She and him still kissed before she went to bed...but Optimus himself was sad she was avoiding him. She knew that, but she had a lot of things in her mind at the moment and being away from him gave her the time to think. Mostly on their future. She spent a lot more time at the abandoned property in the two weeks and she had built up several raised garden beds, bought some soil, compost and manure to use as she kept preparing the garden. The old beds that she had prepared already had new plants in them. Saphira had bought a couple citrus trees, an apple tree and a pear tree as the soil was rich enough for the plants, and she wanted to use the raised garden beds for other plants

Along with setting up the garden beds, she also set up a small greenhouse that she would make use of to grow some seedlings in. During this time, she had mentioned to the autobots about her worry of water, and to her surprise, the autobots made some changes to the base and she now had access to water from the base. A hose reel was attached to the fake outhouse and she was quite happy about it, and it would ensure she didn't need to worry about water at all.

She was at the property at this time, she had just finished planting seeds into several containers and placed it into the greenhouse. She had planted sweet basil, leek, tatsoi, green onion, cabbage, dill and radish, and she was now directly planting carrot seeds into one of the raised garden beds. She hummed softly to herself as she carefully put the seeds into the shallow line she drew into the dirt with her finger when she heard an engine rolling in. She looked up and saw Ratchet, which she was surprised about, but she looked back at what she was doing as she carefully put the seeds into the soil.

Ratchet took a moment to ensure there were no peering eyes before he transformed, startling Saphira as she had not expected him to transform. He looked down at her, watching her carefully put the very small seeds in. When Saphira had shown the autobots just how small seeds were, he was very intrigued at how something so small could grow into something big and amazing.

He looked around the property, he smiled a little as Saphira had done a lot with it and he found himself proud of her. "You've done a pretty good job of the place, Saphira."

"Thanks." She finished planting the carrots and began covering the seeds with the soil gently. "It is far from done, though. I am excited to say that the beds should be full of green and colour soon, with a little bit of TLC, these will be producing a lot of food. I am looking forward to it. I have already marked the weeks they need to be harvested." She lifts her hands away once the seeds were covered and picked up the hose that was on the ground beside her and squeezed the lever to water it. "Those fruit trees might take a bit to produce anything, but it will be good to have them established now."
