Everything felt blurry in her mind. Her eyes very extremely heavy, and there were aches and pains around her body. She did not remember what happened. The last thing she remembers is waking up to Optimus's and Ratchet's voices. Everything else after that felt all muddled up. She was laying on a mattress with a warm blanket over her, and she could hear the sound of a heart monitor beating by her. She managed to open her eyes slowly, she saw an oxygen mask on her face and she looked around slowly to see she was in the med bay.
How did I get here? Why does my body hurt so much?
Saphira shifted her shoulders, only to wince at the pain from her left shoulder. She turned her head and saw her left are was in a cast. She didn't remember anything that could have caused her arm to be broken. However, she wondered how long she had been asleep for. She realized she could have missed her mother's death anniversary. That made her wake more and look around, spotting an IV bag beside her. She spotted Ratchet, he had his back to her as he appeared to be making something. She looked around for Optimus and she spotted him, he was recharging on a med berth. That definitely told her she might have been here for a while.
She licked her dry lips before she finally managed to speak in a dry, weak voice. "Ratchet."
Ratchet flinched and turned, his eyes wide in surprise when he heard her voice. He smiled at her and walked towards her. "Saphira, I am so relieved that you are awake." He leaned towards her as she frowned a little. "Are you feeling any pain?"
Saphira nodded. "Everything hurts, Ratchet..." She groaned as she tried to sit up. "What happened?"
Ratchet had reached for a vial and a syringe to fill with painkiller when he looked at her in surprise. "You don't remember?" She shakes her head. He finished filling the syringe before his hands transform into smaller hands and he grabbed the IV line, as it had an extra connection, to squeeze the painkiller into the tube so Saphira could be more comfortable. "What do you remember?"
Saphira thought about the question before answering. "I only remember waking up to you knocking on Optimus's door, asking him to talk to you about something you had found. I remember we talked and Optimus took me to my room to get ready for shopping...I don't remember anything after that."
Ratchet was saddened to hear that she couldn't remember her shopping trip that day, but he guessed her mind was protecting itself from the trauma. "I'm happy to tell you that you did go shopping. Optimus left the bags untouched in your room. But...the day didn't end well."
Saphira frowned a little and heard movement from the med berth. She turned her head to see Optimus had come out of recharge and slid off the berth with a sad smile. "Saphira, it makes my spark leap with joy to see you awake." She smiled weakly at him as he walked closer and stood beside Ratchet. "And I hear you have forgotten about what happened. I suppose it is best that you did forget...I wish I could forget."
Saphira frowned a little. "How did I end up like this, Prime?"
Optimus and Ratchet glance at each other with worry. They didn't want her to be upset about what happened to her, but she needed to know the truth. "Ronan..." She flinched upon hearing her father's name. She listened to Optimus intently as he spoke about the incident. "He chased you and I down after you purchased items for your mother. I had decided it was time to finish it once and for all so I drove off the road and led him into a labyrinth between several rocky cliff formations...hoping to find somewhere to deal with him without human eyes."
As Optimus spoke, she found herself beginning to remember. She remembers going to the mall and buying the items she wanted to pay tribute to her mother, and she remembers heading back to the base. She didn't know if she wanted to remember the rest...especially if her father was involved. But Optimus continued with the story.
