Chapter 34

After we got home Neil obviously wasn't happy. Susan however was just glad that we were okay. Billy apologized profusely after accidentally punching me at the Byers house. I forgave him for that pretty quickly but I didn't forgive him for the Lucas situation or the Steve situation.

I groan as my alarm goes off. I roll over and turn it off then get out of bed and get ready for school. I grab my backpack and walk out of my room. "Morning." Billy says from the kitchen. "Morning." I mumble to him and he sighs. "Listen I said I was sorry." He says and I roll my eyes. "I'm not mad at what you did to me." I say and he gives me a confused look. "God you're really clueless sometimes." I say as I grab an apple and go outside and get in Billy's Camaro.

Max slowly comes outside followed by Billy. I get out and let my seat down for Max and then get back in. The ride to school is quiet and once we arrive I quickly get out and walk into school. "Hey, we need to talk." Corey says as she comes up to me. "Fine, I wanted to skip first period anyway." I say and we go to the library.

"Where the hell have you been?" She asks quietly. "That's hard to explain." I say with a sigh. "What the hell is going on between you and Harrington?" She then asks and I sigh again. "That's also hard to explain." I say and she rolls her eyes. "What isn't hard to explain?" She asks then wraps me into a hug. "I was so worried." She says and I wrap my arms around her.

"Okay fine I had a... family emergency." I lie as we separate. "Also Steve and I might have kissed." I say quietly and Corey's mouth pops open in shock. "Twice." I say meekly and she gives me an unrecognizable look. "I knew it!" She yells and I slap my hand over her mouth. "Shhhhhh!" I shush her and she jumps up and down excitedly. "Does Billy know?" She asks as she stops jumping. "Obviously not." I say and she laughs.

"There you two are." We hear a voice say from behind us. We turn around and see Eddie. "I was right Munson. You owe me twenty dollars!" Corey exclaims and I turn around to look at her surprised. "Did you two bet on my relationship?" I ask and they share a worried look. Eddie throws Corey twenty dollars and then they sprint away. I laugh and shake my head.

I walk out of the library as the bell rings. I walk to my locker and Corey comes up beside me. "Please don't kill me." She says and I laugh. "I'm not gonna kill you I just think it's funny that you and Eddie, your ex boyfriend, made a bet on my relationship with Steve Harrington." I say with a smile.

Corey looks behind me and before I can turn around to see what she's looking at two arms wrap around my waist, pick me up, and twirl me around. I squeal and the person sits me down. I turn around to see Steve and I lightly hit his chest. "Steve Harrington." I lightly scold him. "Hi." He says with a charming smile. He kisses me and I hear Corey squeal in excitement and Eddie start clapping from beside her. I laugh into the kiss and break away. Steve and I turn to look at Corey and Eddie.

"Sorry I'm just so happy for you two." Corey says as she hugs me. I laugh and we break away. "I need to get to class now." I say with a smile and they all nod. I begin to walk away and Steve follows me. "What?" I ask him confused. "What can I not walk my beautiful girlfriend to her class?" Steve asks and I look at him in shock. "Did you just-" I begin to ask before he cuts me off with a kiss. "Will you, Bella Hargrove, be my girlfriend?" Steve asks with a smile. "Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!" I say excitedly. I kiss him and he laughs.

"You need to get to class." He says when we break away. "I don't know, I could skip." I suggest and he shakes his head with a laugh. "No way, you already skipped first period." He says with a smile and I groan in annoyance. "Fine." I say and we walk to my class.
