~ Vivian day
Day three of talking to Bucky while he's frozen. Listen I know you think I'm crazy. I'm talking to someone that can't "hear" me.

But I have to try. I have to get him back.

I walk into the room he's in with a lunch basket in hand and a blanket.

I lay the blanket down and sit on it.

"Okay hi it's Vivian, again. i thought i could tell you the story of our...favorite hangout. It was a mess but that's how we were so it made sense."

I clear my throat before continuing. "You wanted to have a beautiful picnic in the park we met at. The idea was there but you forgot the picnic basket...and the blanket."

This was actually our first date but Bucky has so much going on in his head, I don't have the heart to tell him he doesn't remember his girlfriend.

"We walked all the way there before you realized. You told me to stay there and you'd run back and get it. You made it just around the corner before you saw little ole Steve carrying the huge basket and blanket."

I laugh.

"He always had your back, in different ways you had his"

I get out some of my food and take a bite before I continue.

"You were so excited. You had saved up and bought a really nice bottle of wine. We drank the whole bottle and stayed out so late Steve had to come find us and walk us home."

I smile thinking about it.

"We got home. You carried me up the stairs. You pulled off my shoes and helped me getting into pajamas before tucking me into bed. i don't know how you did it with your eyes closed but you managed. I wanted you to stay but even drunk you were a gentleman and went down to sleep on the couch. The next morning you woke me up with breakfast before leaving for work."

I start crying. I don't mean to but I can't help myself. I wipe my tears away packing up my things and speed walk out.

~ Vivian day 36
"You rode your bike all the way up the hill and as soon as you caught up with Steve and i you were so exhausted you tried to rest your feet and went zooming backwards"

I start laughing thinking about the way he screamed for us as if we could help him.

"You were hell bound on riding your new bike. You ended up crashing halfway way down. Scraped your knee really bad. You had to lean on me all the way to the hotdog stand so we could clean you up."

I laugh again "what was his name? He always gave us free hotdogs. Oh! His name was Freddy! He hated mustard but charged extra for it."

~ Vivian day 51
"You begged me to try your pie you made from scratch. You said it was made with love but that's not all it was made with because that's how we found out I was allergic to blueberries. You were so sweet though you stayed with me for four days while the swelling went down and I stopped getting lightheaded."

I stand up looking at Bucky through the glass.

"You look really handsome even at zero degrees"

~ Vivian day 112
I make my way to Bucky and in the process I walk by Shuri's lab.

"Vivian!" Shuri yells excitedly.

"Yes?" I say.

"Look what upgrade I'm working on for you and James"

She points at a circle object in the middle of the table.

"What is it"

She rubs her temple. "God do I have to explain everything to you people!"

"Yes" myself and T'challa who walks into the room say in sync.

"You stick it on the cryo freezer and press this button, it will show you James' heartbeat while inside the chamber."

I look at her confused.

"Okay let me dumb it down for you. You may not be able to communicate with him but the body shows signs in other ways. He may be frozen but if he gets nervous or happy or scared or excited, his heartbeat will quicken. You'll at least know if he's really listening."

"For the smartest person in the world I'm surprised it took you over 100 days for this."

"Aye girl don't get sassy with me, you're not at the top of my list to build for"

"I'm kidding I'm kidding thank you, Shuri! I love you" i yell while running out of the room.

"I know you do!" She yells as i shut the door.

I make it into Bucky's room and am careful not to make any noise. I want to see if this really works.

I sneakily put the monitor on the glass and turn it on.

I watch the monitor sit within a range for a minute.

"Hey I'm back" i say.

And suddenly the monitor spikes up in numbers.

I take a step back covering my mouth with my hand. I always figured he could hear me but knowing for sure makes me so happy.

The monitor starts to calm down and go back to normal.

"Did you miss me" i say.

The monitor goes up again. For the first time in a while. I really do have faith things won't end horribly.
