Silence washes over the room as Bucky and I look at each other.

Shuri sits there stunned with a spoon in her mouth.

Nobody's moved since the words left Bucky's mouth.

I finally break Bucky and i's staring contest and grab Shuri's arm teleporting us to her lab.

She stumbles to grab her bowl, spilling milk and a few Frosted Flakes on her shirt.

"Shit! Sorry!" I say running over to her desk grabbing napkins to wipe her off with before it soaks in.

As I'm cleaning off her shirt I start talking.

"I don't know what to do. I mean, was it a "in the moment" thing? Did he mean it? Is he serious?" I say fast and jumbled but she understands me anyway.

"I'm sorry! I just had realized I said boyfriend and that sparked my curiosity on his point of view! I wanted to see how he felt but I didn't think he'd propose here and now!" She says.

We both take a seat across from each other and i put my head in my hands.

"I want this." I say so quiet I'm not sure if she heard me.

"Then tell him." She says.

"But what if he didn't mean it, what if it just slipped out!" I say looking up at her.

She sighs.

"You've told me a lot of stories in your time here." She starts and i nod at her.

"You told me about how you made it back to "civilization" after hydra...and how you proved you were you to Peggy."

I sit back remembering that whole conversation and what I told her.

"You said you regretted not saying yes to Bucky. That if you could go back you'd do it 100 times over...this is your chance vi."

I look at her for a few seconds analyzing her face.

"How did you get so smart?" I say.

"I'm surrounded by idiots, I didn't want to end up like them" she says.

"I thought my ears were ringing" T'challa says walking in with his panther suit on.

"Why are you wearing that already it's 10am!" Shuri yells irritated.

T'challa starts explaining that there's an issue with his suit and Shuri starts yelling at him for breaking her tech.

I walk over to Shuri giving her a kiss on the cheek and say "have fun with that. Thank you for the advice!" Before teleporting to my door.

I open it and walk in but I don't see Bucky.

"Bucky?" I say wondering if he's in the bathroom.

Shit. I must've freaked him out when I ran off.

Shit shit shit.

I go to turn around to find him but I'm met with a huge figure in front of me.

I let out the most intense scream.

"Good to see you too" Nicholas J. Fury says.

"What the hell are you doing here." I say confused.

"Wait can't you sense danger?" Fury says.

"Uh yeah DANGER. I assume you don't have any ill intentions?" I say turning around sitting on my bed.

"I have a proposition for you and your robot boyfriend." He says walking to the chair at the end of my bed.

"Yeah I don't know where he is so good luck with that also how did you get in here? I just saw T'challa and Shuri?"

Fury opens his mouth to talk but stops and looks over towards the door as we can both hear someone unlocking it.

Fury puts his hand on the gun that's latched to his hip but i look at him and shake my head no because I know he won't need it.

Bucky walks in seeing me then Fury.

"Perfect timing. Anyway, I talked to T'Chaka and called in a favor. Now on to the proposal I have for you guys." Fury says.

Bad choice of words. I drop my head to my knees allowing fury to continue.

"I don't know what that's about and I don't want to know but...I want you two to join the avengers."

I look up at him waiting for him to say sike. After 10 seconds he still doesn't. I look over at bucky who looks back at me.

"Are you serious" i say.

"Vivian you've known me since I was a shield rookie training with Peggy, have you ever known me to not be serious?" He says crossing his hands together.

"Believe it or not but yes."

He shakes his head and says.

"What do you think?"

"I know it's kind of mandatory for avengers to live in the stark tower but I'm not exactly sure how that'll go over with Tony." Bucky says.

He's not done and no one says anything so he continues after a couple seconds.

"How would the world feel about The winter soldier turned avenger."

"They'll feel a lot better once they see the good you can do." Fury says before looking at me.

"I'll only do it if she does." Bucky says looking at me and I give him a shy smile.

"Vivian? You practically already are just from the shadows, why not make it permanent?" Fury says.

"I don't know, Fury." I say.

"Why!?" Fury says.

"Every time I go out into the world something happens! I go to find Steve in the ice and hydra gets me, i make plans with Robert and he dies two days before, I come out to see Peggy off and i find out Steve's been alive for years, by the way! I'm still not over that! I spend some time here, Steve gets attacked by The winter soldier, finds out winter soldier is deceased boyfriend, said deceased boyfriend doesn't remember me, oh and the kicker, i go on a mission and find out how one of my best friends actually died, I mean come on fury. I can't handle much more!" I say.

"Vivian. I know you. If you somehow died and you didn't become one you'd kick yourself if it was the last thing you do. You would hate that you lived an over extended life and didn't use your abilities for more than you are!" Fury says staring at me.

"Damn. You pulled at my hero complex strings."

He nods and looks proud.

Here goes everything.

"Three things." I say.

"Anything" fury says.

"One. I'm not joining until after my wedding."

He looks at me confused.

"Didn't know you were engaged but okay done."

"Two. Shield pays for my entire wedding."

"Peggy would have it no other way."

"Three...all of the avengers have to come, especially Hawkeye. They'll fight me on it because they won't want to dress up but they'll listen to you." I say.

Bucky scoffs. "Yeah, right! I know what that guy looks like, If you saw Hawkeye front row you'd marry him instead!"

I laugh. "You should more so worry about his wife." I say.

"He's married?" Bucky says.

"Not publicly, vivian!" Fury says scolding me.

"Don't tell Clint."

Fury looks at me with his signature stern look and says

"anyway, you've got yourself a deal."
