I fiddled with the pen between my fingers, keeping my gaze away from his face as much as I could. The silence between us was almost deafening, at least to me. I could pretty much hear my heartbeat as I sat on the couch, just inches away from him.

He was still watching me, his fingers caressing the fibers of the blanket that sat on his lap. His back leaned on the arm of the couch so that his body was facing me. His breathing was slow and steady, he was at ease, unlike me. I felt microscopic under his gaze, and I was confused. Why was he staring at me so intently? He knew he was staring, but he didn't seem to care. He wasn't just looking at me casually, his eyes glistened with passion, they were glossy and focused as if he were a scientist observing a chemical reaction. The only chemical reaction that I could think of at that moment was the mixture of his intent gazing and my unexplained nervousness.

It was almost as if he was ready to give up his act. It felt as though there were things he wanted to say to me but he preferred to ponder on his thoughts before he turned them into a reality. Was he actually looking at me in the way that I felt he was or was I just crazy?

"Um, what do you want to do?" I asked as I finally built the guts to meet his eyes again.

He glanced out the window. "Maybe we could go for a walk."

For some reason, I liked the idea of staying indoors with him while we were alone. Some urge deep within me pushed for us to finish what we started last Friday. I wanted to feel his lips on mine again, I wanted him to touch me the way he did.

"I was thinking we could stay in," I said before I could stop myself.

His brow rose and a playful smirk tugged at his lips. "Do you have anything in mind that we could do?"

How about you show me your room, I wanted to suggest, but I would rather swallow a pair of jeans than say that to him. Not yet at least.

"Do you want to check out the hot tub upstairs?" I asked and he straightened his posture.

Chase's POV

I had to ask her to repeat herself to see if I had heard her right. There was no way Chloe just suggested for me to check out the hot tub in her room. Before I could stop myself, I began visualizing both of us sitting as warm water ripples around us both, her body pressed up against mine as I pull both of her heavenly thighs on top of mine, making her straddle me.

But of course, she was just innocently offering me the opportunity to see it, knowing that I wouldn't get the chance to actually use it.

"Sure, only if you'll let me use it," I teased and she smiled.

"In your dreams. You had the chance to snatch the room but you lost it."

"Come on, you technically galloped your way there. I had no chance."

"What happened to 'I could tackle you to the floor?'" she spoke in the most obnoxious mockery voice that I'd ever heard. I laughed.

"Is that supposed to be me?"

She nodded. "That's what you sound like."

"That's so not true." I playfully tossed a throw pillow at her

"Would you actually tackle me to the ground though?" She asked before tucking a curl behind her ear.

Okay, now she's just messing with me.

"Maybe," my voice was low now. Her cheeks matched the light pink color of her shirt.

"I can tackle you, without any issues," she boldly informed me.
