A/N: Hi everyone! I am super exited to finally be able to publish "I Never Thought" on Wattpad! I've been working on this book for about a year and I am so happy to be able to share it with all of you!
Just a disclaimer before we move forward, this book does contain scenes which were constructed for a mature audience and might be sensitive to some people; drug use, violence, sex, strong language, and abuse. Please proceed with caution.
So without further ado, grab some tissue boxes and popcorn and buckle up! It's going to be a ride :)
Thank you so much for reading! XOXO, Tianna.
Chloe's POV
Chase released a nervous sigh while fiddling with the zipper of his sweatshirt. "Can we finish our conversation from earlier?"
"Do you mean the conversation about you losing feelings for your girlfriend?" I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.
"I don't exactly like the way you formulated that sentence, but yes." Vulnerability radiated off of him and it took me off guard. My best friend was never one to put weakness on the table, so him being in the doorway of my room, talking to me in this nervous tone most definitely grabbed my full attention.
I stepped to the side and opened the door wider, inviting him in.
"Are you planning on talking to her about this?" I asked while eying him keenly.
"I'm not entirely sure. I mean, I do want to say something to her but I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do."
"It is the right thing. Telling her is better than lying to her."
"I wouldn't call it lying if she doesn't know that I'm feeling this way in the first place." He shoved his hands into his pockets and leaned his head back onto the closed door.
"Yes it is. Anything aside from the whole truth is a lie," I told him and instantly realized how hypocritical of me it was to say that since I was hiding my feelings from him. Nevertheless, he was also lying to me, he never told me that he was the one who made out with me while I was blindfolded at the party.
He crossed the room and lowered himself onto my bed before leaning back with both of his palms pressed into the mattress. A moment of silence grew between us and I stood across from him.
"Why did you leave the living room? Your brother thinks you're upset with him."
I looked down at my feet. How do I even answer that? I thought. I didn't want him to know that it was because I was jealous of that girl that they were talking about. I didn't even know her, but I still didn't like the idea of him being introduced to her. Christian liked to introduce Chase to girls even though he knew he had a girlfriend.
"I just didn't like the idea of you going to hang out with those girls," I admitted.
"Why not?" He furrowed his perfect brows.
Oh nothing, maybe because you are over six feet tall, have prominent biceps, a hard chest, and the face of a god. I am already competing with your girlfriend, if these girls meet you, I would have to compete with them too.
"Because I know you well enough to know that being unfaithful isn't in your nature," I chose to say instead.
His jaw tightened and he began fiddling with his sweatshirt again. His green eyes seemed to be glowing in the moonlight that seeped through the windows and they read sincerity as he spoke. "I didn't come in here to talk about my girlfriend."
"Then what?" I asked quietly.
"I just feel a strange pull to you. I know it sounds cheesy but I just wanted to know if you feel it too."
Did he really just say that?
It was finally happening, the moment that I had dreamt about every night ever since that party, the moment that I've been anticipating for weeks.
When he noticed my puzzled expression, he looked away. "I'm not sure how else to explain it but-"
"Yes," I told him and his head snapped back up to meet my eyes. My heart began its usual marathon as I realized that he just admitted his feelings for me.
"Yes what?"
"I feel it too," I whispered while trying my best to not let my smile break through.
A small smile of his own crept onto his beautiful lips."You do?"
"Yeah."
