Chloe's POVFriday morning, I woke up to loud chatter in the hallway near my room. Twisting and turning under my fur blanket, I tried my best to block the noise out, but it didn't do much. Eventually, I figured that I wasn't going to be able to get any more sleep even if I continued trying to. Thanks to my mother's genes, I was the lightest sleeper on the planet.
With a grunt, I snapped my eyes open and pulled the blanket from my chin to my stomach. I stared at the white ceiling and listened to the voice, trying to put a face to it. Who was that anyway?
"It must be this one, he wasn't very specific," I heard a female's voice say. Figuring that it must had been another one of Christian's one-night stands, I rolled my eyes and blew out my cheeks in annoyance. It was the second one this week, not that it was any of my business.
When I sat up and stretched my arms above me, the voice grew louder and less muffled. The next thing I knew, my bedroom door was being pushed open. I pulled the blanket up to my chest and let out a shriek. The girl's horrified expression met mine and she slapped her hand over her mouth. Her bright red hair immediately told me who she was.
"Victoria?" I asked, confused.
"I'm so sorry, I thought this was the room Christian said we'd be staying in." She shot me an apologetic look.
I sighed and scratched the back of my head, growing more and more annoyed with every second that passed. I had completely forgotten that they were coming to stay the weekend at our house, and he didn't even think to remind me. What were they doing here so early anyway? I glanced at the time and saw that it was nine AM.
"Did you find it?" another voice called behind her and I assumed it belonged to Regina, AKA the blonde from hell. She peered over Victoria's shoulder and her eyes widened. "Oh." Her surprised expression turned into a smile. "Hi Christina."
"It's Chloe," I told her flatly and she waved me off.
"Oops," she thoughtlessly mumbled, and I couldn't stop the scowl that formed on my face.
I hopped off my bed and adjusted my satin bonnet. "What room did he say you're staying in?" I asked them both and they shrugged simultaneously. Deciding that it would be best to just show them to one of the guest rooms rather than have them wander around in my house, I headed toward them, not bothering to wash the grumpiness from my face.
"Come with me," I muttered, and they stepped aside to create a path for me to walk out my room door.
Regina had the strap of a hot pink duffle bag over her shoulder, and it looked as if she had her whole wardrobe stuffed into it because it wasn't even zipped all the way up. Her blonde hair was pin straight and flowed profusely down to her waist and was pushed out of her face with a pink headband.
Victoria was wearing a pair of black cargo pants and a black cropped top, along with a pair of black Dr. Martens boots. The backpack on her back didn't look half as full as her girlfriend's and I shook my head at how different they both were from each other.
As I walked down the crème carpetweed hall with them trotting behind me, talking amongst each other, I wondered why Christian wasn't the one showing them to their room. They were his guests, not mine. But here I was already being a host to them not even five minutes after opening my eyes.
The way Victoria's boots stomped on the floor as we walked was beginning to irritate me, but I tried to not allow it to get to me. How was it even so loud anyway? We were walking on carpet, not hardwood. Then again, I didn't want to come off mean to them. Even though they weren't my favorite people, I was raised better than to be a bitter host. Julia Madden would be very disappointed if I was.
