Chase's POVAfter Chloe left, I finished eating with everyone and helped my mom with the dishes. While drying a bowl and placing it into the cabinet above the sink, I locked eyes with Yanique as she grabbed her purse which she had hung up on the back of her chair.
I could already tell what her next move was going to be; she was going to try to talk to me again and I wasn't having it. I had enough of her and I needed her to be out of my sight already. This girl couldn't read the room if her life depended on it.
I closed the cabinet door and used the moment when she got sucked into a conversation with my mom to slip out of the kitchen and up the stairs to my room. I made sure to lock the door behind me. The same second that I walked in, I decided to take a shower, I needed to refresh myself both physically and mentally. Being in the same room as Chloe, Yanique, and Jack at the same time required more energy than I anticipated. It was difficult sitting next to Chloe without feeling the urge to reach for her hand, next to Yanique without feeling extremely annoyed, and across from fuck face without reaching over and punching him to the floor.
After my shower, I pulled on a black hoodie and some jeans before shoving my feet into some black Timberland boots. I found myself looking forward to the days when I could go out in just a T-shirt, but it was June in Massachusetts, a hoodie was my best option. It was pretty hot and humid just a few hours ago, only for the weather app to say that it was mid-fifties already.
Chloe making amends with Sierra made me both happy and nervous at the same time. I was happy that she wasn't going to lose her best friend because of me after all, but nervous because if she was doing that, it also meant that I should do the same thing. I needed to talk to Chris. Three days was more than enough time for him to process what happened, and he needed to accept it. Aggravatingly enough, my subconscious mind considered calling it quits with Chloe and just staying friends with her, but my conscience immediately shut the idea down. It physically hurt me to even think about not ever being able to hold her or kiss her soft lips again, I couldn't stand it.
After combing my hair to the back of my head and slipping on a beanie, I realized that I was all dressed up and wasn't even sure where I was going. Did I want to go to Christian's? Absolutely not. Was it the right thing to do? Yes. Was I going to do it? Probably not. I needed some convincing.
I peeked through the shades on my window and saw that Sierra was no longer parked in front of my house, and neither was Yanique. Before I knew it, I was trotting down the stairs to my car. Maybe Liam could help me decide what to do. I drove to his house without telling him first, showing up at each other's houses unannounced was a common thing we both did.
I unlocked the double doors to the front of his house by punching the passcode into the keypad next to it. Seeing that his driveway only had his car parked, I figured that his parents weren't home, they barely ever were being that they were both brain surgeons.
"Yo, Liam I'm coming up!" I yelled up the stairs before I began making my way up, the last thing I needed was for me to walk in on him jacking off.
I was halfway up the stairs when I heard muffled moaning traveling down the hallway. I stopped dead in my tracks. Snickering to myself, I sat my hands on my hips before shaking my head. Deciding that it was in both of our best interests for me to not interrupt whatever was going on in his room, I turned and walked back down the stairs.
The couch closest to the stairs was dissembled, and the cushions and blanket were tossed to the floor. Before I sat on the one across from it, I noticed a red bra hanging from its arm. It looked like their party began in the living room. Maybe this wasn't the best time to show up unannounced.
