Chapter 5- hogsmeade

-Time skip-
Christmas time! One of the best times of year, well for me. I enjoyed Christmas but it was never the same after jacob disappeared and this year I was spending Christmas at Hogwarts because my family decided to go to Australia for the season. I didn't mind though, Hogwarts was my home, it was where I belonged. Rowan and Penny were behind me in the common room conversing away about Christmas shopping in hogsmeade." Hi there (y/n)! We didn't see you there," said Rowan.

"Oh hi, you okay?" Said penny.

"Hi I'm okay thanks how are you guys?"

"We're good, should I ask her Row?"

"Yeah, I'll ask her do you have any plans at all tomorrow? We're thinking of going to Hogsmeade tomorrow for Christmas shopping and we were wondering if you wanna come with us?" Rowan asked.

"Yeah I'd love to, I need to get a few things anyway for friends and family," I actually did need a few gifts for my family and friends, until an idea popped into my head, it was the perfect opportunity for me to get something for Severus for Christmas and a potential birthday present. I'll ask Maddie when his birthday is.

"Then it's settled, we'll meet tomorrow at 1 if that's alright?" Asked Penny.

"Yeah that's perfect,"

"Great we'll see you up in the dorm later then,"

"Yeah see ya," I wasn't particularly close to Penny but Rowan and I were great friends, it was also an opportunity to get to know Penny better, she was one of the most popular girls at school and she's a lovely person to be around. With that I exited the common room to go and look for Maddie, to the first place, our area of the courtyard. She was there. Alone. Drawing something, it looked like a realistic portrait of her pet dog, Skye. A 1 year old Siberian husky, she was a little mental one but a very lovely dog. I walked up to her and she greeted me with a bright smile. "Hi Mad, nice drawing,"

"Hi (y/n), thanks, you okay?"

"Yeah I'm good, I'm just wondering when is Severus' birthday? And how old is he turning?I'm going to Hogsmeade tomorrow with Rowan and Penny and I'm getting him a Christmas present and maybe a birthday present."

"Sure his birthday is January 9th, and he's turning 28 so yeah it's perfect to look for something for him,"

"Yeah thanks," I was debating on whether to tell her that I was in love with him or not but I decided it was only right to tell her the truth. "Hey Maddie, I need to tell you something,"

"You're in love with Severus, I know,"

"Wait what?!" I was so shocked by her response. "How did you know?"

"You know, you and I are so close I can read you like a book so I can easily tell, and before you get mad at me, there were also physical signs, you literally stutter whenever he talks to you and you blush when he looks back at you," I mean I guess some of the things were pretty obvious but it seemed like everyone took it as if I was deathly afraid of him. "You're just dense as fuck (y/n) you do realise that, you know?"

"Rude, but yeah it's true, you're not mad at me are you?"

"No, of course not, it's your love life and I'm not gonna spoil it," I was again shocked but relieved.

"Thanks so much Maddie, you're the absolute best and I promise if we get together you'll be the first to know,"

"I better be, just kidding, you will get together I just know it,"

"Are you sure?"

"Uh yeah, I can read the both of you like a book so of course,"

"Thanks again, Maddie, I'll get going now so I guess I'll see you at dinner also promise you won't tell anyone, even Rowan, Sebbie, (b/f/n) Jade or anyone else!"
