A romantic adventure

Chapter 10-Birthday

(Y/n POV)
I woke up realising it was a very special day today. Severus' birthday, he was turning 28, honestly so many people thought he was older considering how he acts towards everyone and how he looks. I swear at one point Andre said that Snape had to have been at least 60, I always highly doubted it. Anyway, I was happy it was his birthday but I was trying to start avoiding him, considering what happened last week when we kissed. I haven't spoke to him since. I wanted to but at the same time I didn't, because I didn't know what he'd say to me whether he'd bring up the fact that he kissed me or he said he loved me.I have spoken to Maddie since and she said that he hasn't said anything about the kiss or anything. He probably didn't remember because he was drunk but I could be wrong.

The snow completely covered every surface outside so I knew I had to wrap extra warm for the day. I wanted to see Severus considering it was his birthday so I decided to wear something nice, not really something I wear usually. I decided on my black and yellow checkered shirt, some jeggings and my white trainers but under my checkered shirt I put on a nice thin but not too thick black jumper and my house scarf. I wanted to do something nice for Severus considering it was his birthday and I'm guessing he's only really spent his last few birthdays with Maddie, so decided I'd bake him a small cake so he could share it with Maddie. I had no kitchen in the common room so I went to the next best place. Hagrid's hut.

As I walked to his hut, it got colder and colder. It's a good thing I'm wearing these clothes, or else I'd have frostbite. Once I reached Hagrid's hut, I knocked on the door and he opened up with his usual warming smile but quickly grew to worry. "(Y/n) Come on in, are ya tryin' to get frostbite?!" He immediately rushed me in and to my surprise, Sebbie and Jade were here.

"Hi guys, Jade I thought you weren't here for another couple days?!" I was shocked but don't get me wrong, I was glad to see Jade. "It's great to see you!"

"Yeah, thanks something came up at home so I had to come back early," she replied.

"Anyway (y/n), what brought you here to our legends hut?" Said Sebbie.

"Well you see.... It's... um." I didn't know how to come out with the right words, i didn't want them to question me about Severus. "It's professor... snape's birthday today and I wanted to uh... bake him a small cake, I know you're gonna question why I'm doing this for him and it's to do with everything he's done for me this school year," They both looked at me with shock. "It's a long story," I had to say before they could question me.

"Well that's awfully nice of ya, (y/n), I'm sure he will love it, I've seen the way 'e looks at ya, and it's a sweet one," Hagrid said. "I think yer the only student 'e can really stand, besides Maddie of course,"

"Don't worry we'll help you!" Jade yelled, she was such a great friend. Honestly you could count on her for anything, I really wished she was in hufflepuff but she was an amazing edition to Gryffindor house.

"Thanks jade, you in Sebbie?"

"Okay, I will," I could tell that Sebbie couldn't be arsed, as usual!

~2 hours later~
Just add the finishing touches and BOOM! The cake was finished! Time to bring it to Severus. "Thanks so much for the help guys!" I was so grateful to have these guys for friends, Jade was so lovely and Sebbie was the gay bestie I never knew I needed.

"It's no problem! You know we'll always be here that's what friends are for!" Jade yelled. She was right.

The cake was only small but they all agreed that it was the thought that counts, I didn't want it to be massive anyway. Hagrid put it in a box to protect it from the snowy weather and wrapped it up with a ribbon, it was perfect! So, I got the cake, rushed back to the castle to get the scarf for Severus. Luckily the cake was still in one piece and so was I.
