Chapter 23- shock

A few days had passed since the party and things had started to get a bit weird. Maddie and I were just sitting in the courtyard outside transfiguration chatting about how I was feeling because I'd started to feel sick everyday and threw up a couple times. "So it's not a bug because it's been for days," she said.

"I don't know, perhaps it's a virus,"

"Wait! Could you be pregnant? WHAT HAS HE DONE TO YOU?!"

"Maddie chill! Now that I think of it the night of Slughorn's party, Severus and I went off and had a little session,"

"Did you use protection??" She asked with an angry but concerned expression.

"I can't remember whether we did or not," I said burying my head in my hands. "It's hellish that I don't know, I feel like I should,"

"(Y/n) chill now where would he be right now?"

"In his classroom I'm guessing, but what should we do how can I find out I'm pregnant without anyone getting suspicious?"

"Madam Pomfrey might have some? But then she'll fucking ask questions, perhaps if I steal one?"

"Maddie that's unethical, you can't possibly-" she started walking away. "Maddie! Where are you going?!"

"I'm getting the thing! Give me 5 minutes!" Oh Merlin! She's going to steal a pregnancy test from the hospital wing. For fucks sake. I couldn't live with her right now, oh gosh if I was actually pregnant. What would Severus think if I was? Would he leave me? Would he support me? Would he want me to keep it or get to of it? My mind was soaring with questions when Charlie came by me.

"Hey, (y/n) I heard you've not been too well are you alright?" He asked face full of concern.

"Yeah having some fresh air has really helped, I still feel nauseous though,"

"Yeah, I'm sorry, Rowan told me you weren't well and was worried about you,"

"Typical she was,"

"I am too, I just want to make sure you're okay, I wrote to mum earlier just to check in on Fred, George, Ron and Ginny and to update on school stuff of course and I told her you weren't to well so expect some chocolate or something," this made me laugh, Charlie's mom, Molly was so amazing whenever I was at the Burrow she'd always treat me as her own daughter same as Arthur, the kids were amazing too Ron and Ginny were so adorable as they were only 7 and 8. Fred and George were due to come to Hogwarts this September coming with Cedric which was unbelievable.

"Yeah your mom is amazing, tell her I said thanks,"

"I will when I next write to her,"

"Actually I'll write to her, I need to say it personally,"

"Okay that's fine, I'm glad you're feeling better though, oh look Maddie's coming," so she was, I really hope she didn't steal a pregnancy test from the hospital wing.

"Hey, (y/n), hey, Charlie," she greeted. "Sorry Charlie but (y/n) and I need to talk privately it's a serious matter,"

"Yeah that's okay, I'll leave you be, see you later girls,"

"Bye," we both said in unison. "Okay, let's go, I've got the test here,"

"Oh gosh, you didn't steal that did you?"

"Nope, turns out Ismelda had one for emergencies for friends,"

"Wow that's awfully useful, hey this bathroom is free plus no one goes in this one," I said pointing to the lavatory with the out of order sign.

"I don't think it's a good idea considering Moaning Myrtle, she might get suspicious,"

"Come on, none of the other girls will be in there and plus she never leaves that bathroom,"

"Okay come on quick, afterwards we're going to Severus, okay?"

"Yep," we said heading in to the bathroom, luckily Moaning Myrtle wasn't in the bathroom, so I rushed into the most spacious cubicle and took the test. It was a disgusting process but we got there in the end. This was indeed the longest 2 minutes of my life, Maddie and I were pacing around the bathroom waiting for the results to come in. Until....

"Uhm, (y/n)? The results are in I think you ought to see them yourself," she was right, I looked at the test and saw 2 lines. No it couldn't be. It was positive. I was pregnant, which made me tear up. I didn't know how to feel, was I happy about it or was I sad? I really didn't know myself. "What's the result?"
Maddie asked with curiosity but also wrapped her arms around me to comfort me. I showed her the test and saw her eyes widen, she was disappointed I just know it. "Y.... You..... you're..... p.... Preg.....pregnant? Come on we need to tell Severus," she said grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the bathroom the test in the other hand.

We reached the dungeon within a few minutes right outside of Severus' classroom. Maddie knocked hard on the door as to really get his attention, the baritone "come in," boomed through the door and Maddie dragged me in. "Ah Maddie and (y/n)," his eyes widened when he saw my tear stained face and rushed over to me.

"I'll leave you both to it, (y/n) give him this and explain, I'll see you later,"

"Okay, see ya," she walked out leaving me and Severus, to which I just immediately burst into tears. "Severus I can't,"

"Love, what is it?" He asked with concern. I showed him the test, and looked away as I didn't want to see his reaction. "Wait, are you?" He held my cheeks in his hands so I could look in his eyes. "Are you pregnant?" He asked in a serious tone. I nodded as I was so ashamed, I just knew he was mad at me. "Oh love," he immediately hugged me and I bawled. "Don't worry, it's all going to be okay, (y/n) look at me," he again held my cheeks and wiped away my tears. "We will and I mean this, we will get through this together. It'll be a tough journey but I assure you that we will pull through,"

Snape POV (cuz I haven't done this in a while lol)

I Maddie and (y/n) walked into my classroom earlier and when I looked, I saw (y/n) with a tear stained face which I immediately got concerned about. Maddie had left us alone to when (y/n) confessed that she was pregnant by handing me a test. All I could say about this was that, I was excited. I was going to be a father but all at the same time, I was terrified. I was terrified that I would turn out like my own father but my main concern was (y/n) and her well being. I could tell she was just as scared as I was but I assured her that as long as we got through this together we will be okay.

Parenthood is a very terrifying thing. I am so scared. And I think my love is too, I know though that she will be a great mother. She will provide our child with a safe space. But me, I'm not so sure.
