"Why did you do that?" Ajax asked Dottore when the angels- and Wei Wuxian were gone to the back of the building where the bed and breakfast was located to let the angels settle down.

"Well, Ajax, you know the saying, keep your friends close and your enemies closer don't you? I'd rather keep those angels within our perimeter rather than let them lose and find out who we are. That would be... unfortunate."

"What if they still do? You do know we have many enemies."

"Why do you think I put Xianxian on them?" Dottore chuckled. "And I also think that Lan Wangji is infatuated with Xianxian, that way, it will be easier for him to gather intel."

"You're such a crazy man." Ajax sighed. But out of the five of them, Wei Wuxian was the perfect choice, since Xie Lian would not leave the basement and chose to do his experiments with Dottore, Freyr was the wild card with his unpredictable temper, and Freyja... well, Freyja was not in the right mind to anything right now, so that left only Wei Wuxian-who could hold his ground against that many angels.

"No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness." Dottore chuckled as he walked back to the basement where he was doing his thing before Ajax called him.

Ajax only sighed but he also knew that Dottore was correct, as usual. That man could read the situation and provide the best solution in a flash. But then again, he had centuries of experience-especially with angels, their natural enemies.

Well, he hoped that they didn't have to move again this time. He liked this place, and the others seemed to like it too. Maybe he had to investigate the disappearance himself, since the others were occupied by their own problems.

Then he could hear Duncan whistling while he cleaned up the tables and took out the trash, so he called him.

"Duncan, may I speak with you for a moment?"

Duncan-the bright-eyed young man that they employed as the help-came closer to Ajax with a smile on his face. His red hair and hazel eyes were exuding innocence and a fresh look at the world.

Although at first he was surprised that the bar's patrons were mostly supernatural beings, he quickly adapted-being a human and all.

Yes, Duncan was the only human in the bar-except for a few strays and those who fell in love with the supernaturals-and he handled the situation like a champ.

"Yes, Ajax? What can I help you with?" He smiled sweetly at Ajax, and Ajax knew that Duncan would be a perfect spy for them.

"So, you saw those people just now? That Xianxian took to the inn?" When Duncan nodded, he continued. "They're angels, and I want you to keep an eye on them at all times. Befriend them if you have to. After all, you're the only human around here and angels are supposed to protect your kind."

"Oh, okay. I will try my best." Duncan looked nervous, because this was, after all, his first official mission.

"Don't worry about this too much, just be yourself, talk to them, show them around if needed, and deliver their meals on time. Vegetarian only, and no alcohol."

"Okay. What if they ask me about you guys?"

"Do you know anything about us?" Ajax quirked his brow in amusement. They never told Duncan about their real identities and they didn't plan to.

"Yes. No, I mean, I don't know. You look like you're angels too, you know, being all very handsome and pretty..." He blushed and Ajax groaned inwardly. Seemed like little Duncan had a crush on Freyja, the only girl around.

Damn. Did he know that Freyja would crush him like an ant? No, maybe Blake was the one to burn him alive if he ever found out about this. He had to take some precaution about this especially since Blake and Freyja's relationship was not the best lately.
