"I don't like that creature."

Freyja pointed at the man they managed to save from the woods while she caressed the kitsune, the white winged lion and kirin cubs that Xie Lian saved. He also found a small black wolf and a black crow inside a different cage, and now all of them were treated from malnourishment inside his lab.

"Please specify which creature, Freyja, I know you don't like many things, but please refrain yourself from killing them while the angels are here." Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes from his little sister's nagging, while Freyr was playing with the white lion and kirin cubs with Jingyi.

"Dude, I didn't mean these cuties. I mean the hideous thing you saved and hid himself behind that disgusting smile, while clinging to your angel!"

"Oh. That creature." Wei Wuxian snickered and Freyja snorted so very unlady-like.

Although Lan Wangji was convinced that Meng Yao was just another innocent angel who escaped from whoever their captor was, Wei Wuxian was skeptical.

Like – weak?

There were literally hundreds of angel's grace there, so that was supposed to mean that hundreds of angels were murdered to get their grace and this one weak creature survived?

Sounds a bit far-fetched.

And when Freyja, who could detect energy – although Wei Wuxian was pretty sure she was being bitchy ninety percent of the time – said that she hated him? Well, it was pretty much a done deal for him, and he should probably warn Lan Wangji about it.

But how?

That twink of a man clung to Lan Wangji like a leech and refused to talk to anyone else, including the other two junior angels – who observed their superior like hawks.

Surprisingly, Jingyi quickly became close with Freyr, and Evangeline looked at Ajax with heart eyes – which was reciprocated by the warlock.

Damn those angels really complicated things.

"Should I call Tenten to soothe your ruffled feathers?" Xie Lian offered when he noticed that Wei Wuxian was getting angrier.

"Instead of soothing, she would burn everything and charge me on top of it. That cunning woman." Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes, knowing how Benzaiten worked even though she was supposed to be a Goddess. "On second thought, yes, please call her. At least we could save whoever she's scamming right now." He grinned knowing how pissed she was going to be.

Xie Lian chuckled as he took out a paper charm and snapped his fingers, making it burn. And when it burned completely, Benzaiten appeared in exchange for the charm.

"This better be good or I swear I'll burn your bar down." Benzaiten looked unkempt and her top was opened halfway while her hair was tousled like she was in the middle of doing something lewd.

"Oh my gosh! Were you just in the middle of screwing someone? We're sorry!" Wei Wuxian smirked and he did not look sorry at all when Benzaiten pinched his waist.

"I am a Goddess of love. Shouldn't I spread love everywhere? Damn, and I spent a lot of time on that fine tengu, and you just summoned me like I'm some mythical beast."

"Tengu? Ah, you mean Fujin?"

"What? You know him?" Benzaiten gasped like she was offended and Wei Wuxian shrugged nonchalantly.

Of course he knew Fujin, that young man had a massive crush on this crazy Goddess of Love since eons ago, but the insensitive woman did not notice until lately, and they got hot and heavy fast.

"Of course I know him. Actually, we called you to help with this situation." Wei Wuxian waved his hand to show her the horde of baby mythical beasts and the suspicious so-called angel who now wept like some kind of a princess in Lan Wangji's embrace.

Ugh.

Benzaiten took one look at the commotion in front of her and she grinned at Wei Wuxian.

"Someone's jelly?" She cackled like a maniac and Wei Wuxian rolled his eyes, right when Freyja saw Benzaiten and she waved her to come and showed her the black crow.

"Tenten, I think this crow is related to your paramour, but this one couldn't transform right now since he was hurt." She showed Benzaiten the mark under its neck.

"You know Fujin too? Damn, one could not really keep a secret around here." She examined the bird and frowned. "Uh yes, this is a tengu, but his condition is strange. You should ask Dottore about this, where is he?"

"Here. Hi Tenten, you look beautiful as always." Dottore appeared before them and he approached the mythical beasts horde then examined them closely.

"Hmm, I can feel the trace of angel's grace within this tengu." Then he turned to do the same to the other babies. "And the same with the others."

"What about that creature?" Freyja pointed her finger again but this time Blake took it and kissed them all one by one.

"Not too obvious, love. If he indeed has a bad intention, we should not let him know, or he could hurt the babies – or maybe the angels."

"Blake's right." Dottore nodded. "We do not know anything at this point, so we should approach this carefully to find out what that thing wants."

"Can we just torture it? And by we, I mean me? Why should we resort to peace when we could do violence?" Freyja pouted. "Is this because of the angels? Should I get rid of them too?"

"I second that." Freyr raised his hand and high fived his twins.

"Now, now, children. Remember that we live in a peaceful world now, no excess violence and all? We need to use our brain instead of the hit-first-and-ask-questions-later method that we used back then." Dottore ruffled Freyja's head fondly. "And besides, I need to find out more about this… experiment using the angel's grace that you found back there."

"I've secured them, Dottore. We have more than enough for our own research." Xie Lian nodded.

When the others were panicking over the creature, he collected everything inside his space storage and brought them back discreetly. Thanks to the creature for distracting Lan Wangji so that he did not notice anything else.

"Good. Just let the angel do what they're good at for now. We can always intervene later. You hear that, Freyja? Freyr? Don't do anything rash. For now."
