The man was taking a dip–au naturel–in the cold spring infused with the special herbs that were concocted by his special 'friends'–the wild animals.

To say that he was an animal whisperer was not too far-fetched, since he could communicate with all sorts of animals and they were the only companion he had–no, chose–in this whole mountain. He preferred animals rather than the others of the same species with him, since they were not making any unnecessary gestures. Like giggled when he walked past, or talked behind his back, or doing something to get his attention, like flirting.

They were supposed to be the higher being, not lowering themselves to the same level with those humans, that was why he didn't like to mingle with his own peers.

There was also a huge magical tree with a temper–which was the only one left in all five realms–and he was honored when the tree picked his place to stay.

The picky tree needed to dip half of its root in the cold spring that could freeze a normal human to death in ten seconds flat, and the other half inside the hot spring that could burn a man alive in a five seconds flat. It was located just beside the cold one.

They were the best features of this peak, aside from its natural wildlife and the special and rare plants that only grew in this specific environment.

The view from his residence was also the best, since it was perched on one of the highest mountains, a little bit far from the other place, and shrouded with thick clouds.

No one could peek into it, or even come uninvited since he did not appreciate any kind of guests, and that was also why he chose this place. For its secluded location.

He was deep in his meditation, when a small white bird came singing, and perched on his shoulder, and it caused him to frown.

"Now?" He asked the bird who nodded and then flew away in a circle–as if to hurry the man to follow it.

The man sighed as he stood up from the cold spring, his long black hair was wet, and his body looked like he was carved from marble by god himself. He was very tall, and lean, without an inch of extra fat, and a very defined eight pack abs. His muscles were a result from rigorous training and dipping into the two pools in turns for a period of time, and his face was… let's just say that he was God's personal's favorite.

Without any words, a few of the bigger bird species took his white robe and gave it to him, and a white nine-tailed fox grabbed his shoes and put them in front of him.

"Thank you." He wore the robe and the birds helped with his hair.

As he walked toward the edge of his peak, his wings started to unfurl majestically to reveal a pair of huge white wings with golden tips, a sign that he was one of the highest level Angels.

The man was the Leader of the Holy Knights–comprised of the highest skill-level angels that protected their realm from any danger. And sometimes, it involved investigating their own kind from any wrongdoing. That was one of the reasons why the other angels were afraid–and in awe–with him. He was like this untouchable divine being who exuded a beacon of light, and guided the lost souls home.

He flew toward the main peak, where the Creator resided. The little birdie just told him that the Creator was looking for him and his older brother–the Leader of the Royal Guard, the special guards of the Creator.

He entered the peak a few minutes later, and the guards there bowed to him in respect as he walked straight to the inner court, where the Creator was holding a meeting with his highest echelon.

On the way there, he was met by a very beautiful young woman who happened to be the Creator's daughter, and one of his most trusted lieutenants.

"Brother, you're here!" She smiled and walked beside him. "Wait until you hear what the Creator has in his pocket for you." Her violet eyes danced merrily as she was so excited and couldn't help but hooked her arms around his and dragged him to move faster.

He quirked his brow in amusement, because this young woman practically jumped out of her skin from excitement. But then again, she was always like that, and it was one of the things that made her adorable.

"You're never been this excited before." He ruffled her light blonde hair fondly. She was like a dear sister to him, and she was also the most tolerable among the other angels with her innocent view of life.

"You have no idea, brother…" She giggled in excitement, and they entered the inner court together.

Inside they saw that the Creator was already there and talking with the Leader of the Royal Guard, and someone they had never seen before. The person was wearing a strange mask which covered his face and it was shaped like a bird with a long beak. He didn't say a word to anyone, or even moved an inch from his position a little bit behind the Creator.

The Creator smiled when he saw the newcomers.

"Wangji, Evie, welcome."

"Creator." Lan Wangji bowed respectfully. "Brother." Then he nodded politely at the stranger.

"Wangji. I'm sorry to bother you in the middle of your training, but I'm afraid this is a crucial matter that needs to be handled swiftly and discreetly." The Creator smiled at Lan Wangji and his daughter. "Evie. I see that you are here too." He chuckled at his daughter's eagerness to convey the news that he was about to tell to his most trusted Knight.

"Yes, Creator, I'm here." She smiled widely and then she bowed politely to her father and Lan Xichen. "Brother Xichen, nice to see you." And she also nodded politely at the stranger.

"So, Wangji, let me get straight to the point." The Creator didn't waste any more time as his handsome face was getting serious. "I'm just now receiving news that our emissaries on earth were disappearing at an alarming rate–the latest was last night–and I need you to investigate this matter."

Lan Wangji was not surprised, since he had heard from his little friends about the mysterious disappearance of the angels who were sent to earth to help with humans' suffering.

Personally, he didn't understand why the Creator seemed hellbent on sending those angels down there, while he knew that those humans could not be saved just by healing their physical problem without regarding the mentality and their true color.

But he kept his opinion to himself.

It was not his place to question the authority of the Creator, since he was just a humble servant who dedicated his life to fully serving justice.

"And bring Evangeline with you. Along with Jingyi and Fei, so that they can learn something from you."

Lan Wangji frowned, because Jingyi and Fei were too young to be brought into this kind of investigation. On earth of all places. True, they were very talented, but they were also still very young.

But he was not about to disobey a direct order, so he would also bring his other lieutenants with him.

"Of course you should also bring your own trusted men to babysit the babies."

It seemed that the Creator could read his mind, because that was literally what he was thinking.

"I will, Creator." Lan Wangji bowed his head. "When do you want me to go?"

"As soon as you gather your men. Keep it small, Wangji, we don't want to attract attention by going with an army of Knights to earth." Creator chuckled. "You guys would definitely cause a riot there with your… appearances."

Even Lan Xichen chuckled when he heard the Creator's remark, since the members of the Knights were all outstandingly beautiful. Just like every high-level angel there was. And they would definitely attract attention in a large group.

"Oh and please try to be discreet. Very discreet. We don't want people from other realms to find out that we've been losing track of our own people, otherwise there would definitely be chaos."

By the chaos, he meant that anyone could contest that the Creator was not capable of taking care of his own people, and there would be power struggle, and worst–a war to replace the Creator as the Leader of five realms.

"Understood."
