Not A Sound

The forest was still asleep, the silence was almost deafening. The only sound was the crunching of leaves under the groups feet. "Are we there yet" Enzo whined "clearly not" Pansy snapped back. "The footprints are fading, we're getting close" Lilli kept her focus on the ground in front of her. Suddenly Mattheo paused "everybody quiet" he whispered. The group fell silent "the footprints stopped dead" Lilli whispered back. Mattheo pointed at the open area between the trees "there"
"Don't want to disappoint mate, but that's just grass" Draco slid in his usual snide remark "no there's a spell you idiot. We literally have one on our camp. My dad used to use them all the time in the house to hide rooms from me, so I can spot then pretty eas" he shrugged.

Lilli's body felt numb. This was it, their only chance. Mattheo jump started the plan, ripping a hole in the protective  barrier. Lillis body carried her through before she even realised what she was doing.
Theo and Lilli transformed, using their heightened senses to listen out for any movement.

There paws allowed them to move without making a sound. Pushing the tent door open they split up into the separate compartments inside.

Theo nuzzled around in Hermiones drawers. The locket was nowhere to be seen but he did stumble across something of interest under some oddly striped, long sleeved, t-shirts. A small ripped piece of parchment.

Lilli was the one to find it, sat right there on Harry's bedside locker. It wasn't hidden or safe, it was just there. She flipped the locket up with her snout and it landed around her neck. She met with Theo in the main room and the two snuck back out. The rest of the group were doing as they had been told and keeping guard.

The forest was beginning to wake up, the birds were chirping and the bushes were rustling. "You got it?" Pansy whisper squealed, Lilli held up the locket and let it swing on her finger.

The group moved swiftly through the forest. Trying their best to get away from the camp as quickly as possible and evade detection, they haven't gotten far when a large branch snapping caught their attention. Spinning around a slight rustling grabbed their combined attention.

Squinting her eyes Lilli noticed a shimmering in the distance, like water in between the trees "show yourself" she demanded. The rustling began again and suddenly a cloke fell to the ground and three fingers emerged. Their faces were red and their blood boiling.

"Where is it? you've taken it, I now you've taken it" Harry roared, he was never able to control his temper.
"What do you mean?" Lilli smirked "we haven't taken anything".
Blaise tutted "Bold of you to assume we've done anything, you're so judgemental, you see us and you just assume we've done something bad"

"Maybe we're just taking a stroll in the forest" Pansy shrugged and Hermione laughed "A stroll in the forest? 2 hours from where you're supposed to be. Why aren't you at school?"

"I could ask you the same thing" Theo  snapped "We are here on Ministry business" Ron answered  "And we are here on our own business" Draco retaliated.

Potter lost his temper once again and began shouting "Where is it, where is it. I know you've taken my locket"
"I don't know of any locket, is it of great importance? Something I should know about perhaps" Lilli tilted her head to look at him.

"I don't know how you did it, how you got into my tent but I know you have it!" Mattheo groaned "always assuming the worst Potter, just leave us alone for once"

"Leave you alone?" Ron gasped "you're sneaking around in the middle of a random forest"
"And so are you, now if you'll excuse us" Pansy turned on her heel and began to leave. Everyone else followed behind her leaving the trio in shock.

"I found this in the tent" Theo handed Lilli the parchment he'd discovered "read it" he nudged. "It says something about using a sword of Gryffindoor to destroy the horcrux" Lilli wrapped her arms around Theos neck "oh you've done it, thank you, thank you" She beamed.

Once they got back to base they locked the horcrux up along with the note. Lilli had ordered nobody to put it on after Mattheo had informed them of its effects.

"Right whiskers, let's get to studying then" Lilli patted her shoulder and the kitten jumped up. She cat always came with her to the library, she lay in the piles of papers as Lilli was reading. She was off to study the sword.

"You need a break" Theo leaned against the bookshelf "What do you mean? I'm doing great" she didn't look up from her book "come on" he dragged her out of the chair "let's have some fun" his usual smirk was plastered on his lips "what kinda fun?" His contagious smile had found its way to her face as well. He placed his finger on her lips and hushed her "you'll just have to wait and see"
