Rising Tensions

Lilli slipped out the common room door and snuck up to the tower. She lay on the cold floor and stared into the sky of stars.

"Should I follow Sirius or Regulus" she whispered to herself.
"Join and sacrifice myself, or be disowned and abandoned" she dragged her hands over her face.

"Personally I would do neither" Lillis head snapped around to see Mattheo lying next to her. She wanted to put a knife through her eye at the sight of him.

"Well what would you do?" She sighed
"If we are going off of stars I would probably go for a Draco" Mattheo pointed at the sky "Why?" Lilli didn't know what he was talking about.
"Well Draco decided to join, so he wasn't disowned and he also hasn't sacrificed himself" Mattheo explained.
Lilli sat up "He's one of them" she stuttered.
"Don't be shocked, he IS a Malfoy" Mattheo laughed coldly, clearly not noticing the pain he had caused her.
"You are as well aren't you?" Lilli's face dropped like she had just been severely betrayed "Why would you think that?" Mattheo tilted his head

"Riddle. Mattheo Riddle" Lilli's frown was now a smirk. She watched as panic flickered across Mattheos face.
"At a loss for words are we darling?" she grinned. "How did you.... how long have you?" He stuttered.
"Two weeks" she smiled "I keep my sources to myself".

The truth was she had found out the day she got the map, It showed everyone's first and last names, including his. She had kept it to herself knowing she now had some power over him.

"You and Liam are here to take me to him" Lilli sighed "I can't let you do that"
A cold sensation shivered throughout Mattheos body as Lilli pressed a blade against his neck.
"You are so hot right now" even the idea of death didn't stop his flirting.
"You're just trying to manipulate me" she pressed a little harder.
"Even when you're about to kill me you're calm, how do you do it" He smiled "I won't kill you, I just want you to know... that I know" she removed the blade quickly making Mattheo flinch.

He stood up and turned to her. "Whatever you think, it's not true" he snapped

Lilli could hear a ringing in her ear and her head started to ache. She whispered some spells under her breath to block out whatever or whoever was trying to get into her head.

"Lilli, I am truly just here for an education, I do not work for my father" Mattheo lay a hand on her shoulder.

Lilli stared into his eyes. In that moment the darkest parts of her soul stared back at her through his deep grey eyes.
And the lightest parts of his soul stared back at him through her bright blue eyes.

"I feel a need to keep you safe" his expression was hard. Lilli was taken a back. Where was this coming from?
"I don't need protecting" Lilli held her chin high "Trust me I know that, but that doesn't mean I don't want to"
"You hardly know me" she rolled her eyes. "And yet you have such a grip on me" He smirked

She laughed and pushed his shoulder.

"I'm serious" he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his chest. He tipped her chin up with two of his fingers and kissed her. He gently pushed her up against the wall.

"I said never again".
"Then I guess you lied"
"I never lie" she smirked pulling away from him and leaving him once again alone in the astronomy tower.

He hit his head against the wall and let out a sigh. None of his plans were working and he could feel himself losing control of the situation.
