The First

"It's summer" Theo sighed and threw his arms up half heartedly.

"I've never seen a more depressed bunch of students about to leave school" McGonagal laughed as she walked by. 
"Might be the last time we see each other professor" Pansy sighed.
"Don't be so morbid. I'll see you back here, for your very last year in a few months" McGonagal beamed.

"Bye professor" They waved. Lilli hugged her as she left, McGonagal seemed shocked at first but hugged her back.
"Thank you Minnie" Lilli smiled 
"Everything will be alright" McGonagal nodded. Lilli smiled unconvincingly and jogged to catch up with the others.

"Come on guys cheer up, it's summer" Enzo grinned. They boarded the train with the rest of the school. 
"Where are you staying this summer Lilli?" Blaise helped her put her suitcase in the overhead compartment. 
"Me, Theo and Mattheo are staying at Pansy's" Lilli replied. "You're welcome to stay if you'd like, all of you" Pansy invited.

Summer was fine, nothing special. The attacks continued but the group managed to stay safe through the summer.

"Everybody ready" Pansy screamed up the stairs. Multiple 'YES' shouts answered her. Pansy, Lilli, Theo and Mattheo were headed to Diagonally to buy last minute school supplies.

They apperated to the entrance of the street. They were instantly met with burning buildings, screams. People in cloaks with gold and silver masks ran from buildings on every side.

"Oh Merlin...." Theo breathed "This is horrific" Pansys voice was shaky. The group watched the cloaked figures prance about the streets. The screams of burning witches and wizards were deafening.

One of the cloaked people walked toward the group. There stirde was feminine and even with the cloak they looked quite petite.

"Guys..." a girls voice spoke quietly. 
"Astoria" Pansy beamed

Astoria pulled her silver mask off and jumped into their arms. They all gripped onto her. They hugged her as if it was the last time they would ever see her.

"What are you doing?" Pansy gasped when they pulled away "I have to" Astoria sighed "You don't" Pansy put a hand on her arm "I love you guys, can't wait to be back at school" Astoria smiled "We love you to Greenie and we miss you" Lilli replied "We'll be back together soon" Theo shrugged "exactly, only a few more days" Mattheo nodded to reassure her. Astorias smile was so broad Lillin wouldn’t have been surprised if it reached her ears.

"OVER THERE" A man screamed from farther up the path. 

The group turned to look at him and Astoria quickly put her mask back on. The group took a few steps back, distancing themselves from the men as they ran toward them.

"He's holding them hostage" one of the men shouted. 
"He?" Lilli whispered to Mattheo and Mattheo shrugged. The men looked like they were from the ministry. "What are you waiting for?" The largest man snapped "Kill him" One of the men screamed. 

"WHAT NO!" Pansy lunged forward but Theo grabbed her waist.

"AVADA KADAVRA" the smaller ministry man shot the spell from his wand. Everyone ducked but the beam was headed straight for Astoria.

"NOOO" all four of them screamed as they watched the spell hit their friend.

Astorias body dropped to the floor and Lilli ran over instantly. Mattheo tried to grab her but she slipped away. Lilli watched as the life left Astorias eyes and her body went limp. 

Pansy collapsed into Theos arms. He knelt on the ground and held her tight as she sobbed "SHE'S JUST A KID, SHES JUST A KID" Pansy screamed.

Lilli shook Astorias body. 
"Wake up Astoria, wake up" Lilli shouted through sobs. "PLEASE SHES NOT BREATHING" Lilli screamed at the ministry men. Mattheo knelt down and held her shoulders. Not saying a word.

"No, no, no" Lilli kept shaking her.
Pansy let out an ear piercing scream from behind them. The hurt in her voice was so prevalent even the ministry men winced.

Lilli collapsed onto Astorias body. "Please.... Astoria" she sobbed into her robes.

"WHAT THE FUCK" Pansy screamed at the ministry men. "She was a death eater" the leader said calmly. The men all stood in front of them, as if they hadn't just destroyed all of their lives.

"She was our friend" Theo screamed back at him "Don't raise your voice at me" one of the men snapped. He took a step toward him but the leader put and arm out to stop him.

"What are you going to do, kill me like you killed my friend" Theo was still holding a sobbing Pansy. Mattheo sat silently beside Lilli. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Liam and Draco running toward them. They had stripped their black robes and masks.

"What's going on? we heard screaming"  Draco shouted as he ran up. 

When the boys reached the group they stopped dead in their tracks. Liam looked at his girlfriends body and froze. Draco ran to Pansy and took her from Theo. He looked quite grateful, not knowing how to handle the girls hysteria.

"Liam...." Theo walked up to him carefully. Liam fainted but Theo managed to catch him before he hit the ground "see what you've done" Mattheo shouted at the men "You've destroyed us" "She was a bad person" one of the ministry men replied.

"Up until two minutes ago you thought she was a man, how can you know if she's a good person or not?" Mattheo was still holding onto Lilli.

"She worked for... him" The man whispered angrily "How are you any better then him when you are using unforgivable curses on teenagers" Theo shouted "Are you defending the Dark Lord, must we arrest you?" The man smirked "You may as well kill me" Theo snapped back.
"Just leave" Draco whispered maliciously "We must take the body" The man pointed at Astorias body.

"No! You're not taking her" Pansy had slipped from Draco's grip and was sat next to Lilli shaking Astoria.

"Astoria" Liam whispered groggily as he slowly woke up "Please wake up my love" he rubbed her face.
"We have to take her" the man stepped forward and his workers began to drag them off of Astoria.

"We love you Astoria" Lilli whispered and kissed her cheek. Pansy held onto her until she was forcibly removed. They watched as the men took their bestfriends body from them. Mattheo wrapped his arms around Lilli and she sobbed into his chest.

None of them spoke. They just stood there.

"I'll write to the others" Mattheo said quietly "Tell them to meet us at the three broomsticks, they should find out in person" Theo whispered. Mattheo nodded and disappeared into the closest, non burning shop.

"Hey, why did you call so urgently" Enzo walked into the pub and sat down with the group. He looked quite chirpy and his step was bouncy and happy.

It had been two days since the incident and the girls faces were swollen and red from crying. Liam hadn't spoken a word since it happened. Mattheo and Theo were trying their best to stay strong for everyone else. And Draco was just angry, very angry.

Enzo looked around the group with a concerned look. "Whats going on?" He was never good at reading the room.
Blaise entered just as Enzo spoke and sat next to him. His face instantly dropping "What happend" Blaise looked at them all "Hey, where's Greenie" Enzo scanned the group.

Mattheo cleared his throat.

"It's Astoria... she uhm, she passed away" Mattheo spoke quietly. Neither boy replied. The two sat in silence.
"She was killed by the ministry" Draco balled his fists and his jaw was tense.

"And you were all there" Blaise swallowed hard. The group nodded. 
"Me and Liam came straight after" Draco explained "I watched the life leave her eyes" Lilli began to sob again and Mattheo wrapped his arm around her.

"School starts tomorrow, we will see her then" Enzo smiled "Enzo" Pansy sighed "No she's not, she's not dead" he stuttered "We watched it happen" Theo said softly.
"NO" Enzo slammed his fist against the table making the whole group jump in shock.

"Enzo" Blaise put a hand on his fist. Enzo broke down and collapsed into tears and Blaise wrapped him in a hug.

"Can I get you anything" a waiter came to their table "oh, not a good time?" the waiter instantly regretted asking when he noticed the multiple sobbing people.

"A round of butterbeers please" Draco handed her some money and she scurried away.
