RICK

I was playing spin the bottle with my group of junior jocks. As well as the popular girls. It was late out at the Winter Wonderland, and I was bored with the rest of the people. I guess everyone was tired of dancing. Or people got into a bunch of drama and didn't feel like being with their partner anymore. I didn't even know why I came. Probably because everyone else was going. Or because I just felt like it. Sometimes I do things I can't explain.

"Here's to Rick, I think it's your turn," said Janice. "All yours." We were sitting in a tight circle.

"Alright," I said, cinching the bottle with my fingers and taking a wild spin.

It whirled, pointing at each and every person as it rotated, until it slowly came to a stop. It pointed at Rand. I freaked literally.

"Oooooooh," said everyone. "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"

"Dude, it's your ex," said Zach. "This has got to be good."

I punched his arm. "Shut up, man. Maybe for you, though."

Rand smirked. "Come here, Ricky," she cooed as she leaned toward me.

I grimaced, knowing I had no choice. I pressed my lips against hers for a split second, then pulled away.

"Ohh, now that was classic!" laughed Fletcher. I wanted that guy to just shut his piehole.

I felt so guilty for smooching on Rand under peer pressure. But of course, it didn't mean anything.

"Whatever," I said, annoyed. "Edward, it's your turn. Take your shot." I realized holy fuck - I let that bitch kiss me. I wiped my lips in disgust. Yeah, I was done for the night.

I walked off. It'd been twenty minutes, and I still hadn't gone home. I didn't want to see Skylar, or my dad. I stuck around and idled aimlessly for a while.

As I walked through the school corridor, I heard two voices from the other end.

"Oh...I cannot believe Rick fell for our ship sinker plan," said a voice which sounded familiar - definitely Rand's.

I scooted closer and peeked around the corner. There I saw Rand and Zach talking. I didn't hear much, but I heard enough to find out some things.

"I know," Zach answered her. "You should have seen their faces after we ruined their date. Your fake handwriting was so bomb."

"Totally," said Rand. "Misty was being a crybaby too. She actually thought Rick cheated with me."

"That was fire. But don't let Rick know. He'd murder me."

"No, he'd kill us both. But two against one? Not a chance."

"You're right," said Zach.

I felt an anger pulsing in my veins. I couldn't believe them. I couldn't believe any of it.
