Chapter 20 - Too Clingy?

Few weeks passed and it was test week soon before Christmas break and Akito started to get busier because of Toya forcing him to try and at least get his grade up.
Reason being because during exam week they had an event coming up which have the best street musician bands performing it wasn't really a competition. They couldn't afford to have make up tests on the day.

Y/n did understand but she started to feel lonely. Really lonely.

Whenever she tried to talk to Akito he always had somewhere to be. He barely uses his phone.

Y/n was looking for Akito around the school until she found him.

"Akito!! I missed you!" Y/n said jumping onto him.

"Y/n?! I'm trying to speak to someone!" Akito said.

"Eh? Oh who is she?" Y/n asked.

"Im-"

"She's nobody. Now can you get off?!" Akito said.

"Oh alright.? I'll see you later." Y/n said feeling a bit upset.

Y/n did and whilst she was looking for him during the end of the day he was with and same girl but with Toya and An.

"Akito! Are you free?" Y/n questioned suddenly.

"No I'm not." Akito replied bluntly.

"That reminds me. You haven't spent time with Y/n have you?" An said disappointed.

"Well I'm busy." Akito said.

"Just go spend time with her." Toya said.

"No! I can't. Y/n just go talk to somebody else." Akito said leaving Y/n.

"What?." Y/n muttered confused.

Y/n felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Is he making you feel bad?"

Y/n turned around.

"Who are you?" Y/n questioned.

"Mizuki Akiyama. Ena's best friend! You seriously don't know me?" Mizuki said shocked.

"Sorry!" Y/n apologised.

"Ah nevermind! Is Lil' bro your boyfriend?" Mizuki asked.

Y/n swore she could see a small smirk on Mizuki's face.

"Uh yeah.." Y/n replied.

"I can't believe he's leaving you like that! When I tell Ena about this she will go berserk on him!" Mizuki said.

Y/n chuckled.

"Ena said good things about you! How about we head over to her place? Lil bro is probably not going to be home anyway." Mizuki smiled.

"Okay then." Y/n smiled back feeling better.

Y/n and Mizuki arrived at the Shinonome residence. Along the way Mizuki told Y/n that they go by they/them pronouns since Mizuki probably thought Y/n didn't know about that.

Y/n did obviously make a mental note about it.

Hours passed and the three were having the best time. Even Y/n added Mizuki on nightcord.

Until Y/n had to go home.

"I'll walk you!" Mizuki said.

"Yeah Akito isn't going to walk you today cause he is being such a jerk." Ena agreed.

"Are you sure?" Y/n asked.

"Yeah! See you later Ena!" Mizuki smiled before walking out the room with Y/n.

Next day

Y/n tried to find Akito again. This time he was still with An, Toya and the same girl.

"Hey! What are you guys up to?" Y/n smiled.

"Y/n stop trying to follow me around will you?! It's starting to get annoying now!" Akito lashed out.

An, Toya and the girl were in shock.

"Well I haven't seen you in a long time..so I-"

"Shut up! You're so impatient. You can never do anything without me!" Akito said before walking off.

"I'll go chase him." Toya said after bowing in apology to Y/n.

Y/n felt tears rise to her eyes.

"I'm so sorry L/n! He's being so stubborn that he keeps asking to study more!" The girl said immediately hugging Y/n in apology.

"We'll try to get Akito to hangout with you okay?!" The girl tried helping Y/n feel better.

An hugged Y/n too which made Y/n start bawling her eyes out.

An helped Y/n wipe her tears using a handkerchief.

"You don't have to stop him. He's busy for a good reason. I'm being too clingy to him. Aren't I?" Y/n sobbed out.

"No! Don't think about that okay? It's him." An said rubbing Y/n's back.

Y/n did eventually give Akito some space. Maybe a bit too much.

When it was the event day Y/n thought Akito didn't want her there. She purposely avoided him. It wasn't hard because she never saw Akito around.

So Y/n decided to just not go and help out with the student council after school since some of them had to retake the tests.

"Y/n can you take care of these?" A boy said.

"That's a whole stack! Can't you help at least?!" Y/n sighed.

"Fine.." The boy groaned.

He didn't stick around. He made an excuse and ran out.

Y/n saw the time. It was 15 minutes until the event. She started to rethink her decisions until she finally decided.

Y/n's going to go.

A girl who was with Y/n were doing a stack of papers too who looked exhausted.

"Hey are they all just signing?" Y/n asked.

"Hm? Yeah.." The girl yawned.

"I'll do it for you. You can go home." Y/n smiled.

"Okay...HUH? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!" The girl said immediately feeling wide awake.

"You have to get enough sleep right?" Y/n said.

"Really? Will you be okay?" The girl asked.

"Yeah! I need to head somewhere and then I'll come back to collect the paperworks okay?" Y/n reassured her.

"Thank you so much! Don't worry if you don't finish I'll try finishing it in the morning!" The girl said packing her stuff and walking out.
