Chapter 1 - The princess and the knights

"Mizuki!!" Y/n shouted.

Mizuki suddenly ran to Y/n in a hurry.

"What is it pr- Y/n!?" Mizuki replied in worry.

Y/n bursted into laughter.

"I'm just bored." Y/n smiled.

"Ha?? Seriously Y/n." Mizuki sighed.

"Haha! Serious. Do you have anything we could do?" Y/n commented.

"Akito is probably fed up with my boredom too so should we mess with him?" Mizuki smirked.

"Count me in!" Y/n smiled.

"Akito! I can't find the princess!" Mizuki said.

Akito immediately looked right towards them.

"What did you do?!" Akito said while immediately running off to find Y/n.

"Wait Akito! I think I hear something.." Mizuki said.

The two stayed quiet and heard faint shuffling.
Akito ran to the source of the sound and slammed the door open.

The lights were off. Suddenly a sound like a knife being dropped was heard by Akito. Switching on the lights Akito saw Y/n in front of him.

"Surprise!" Y/n said with laughter.

"Bahaha! We got you good huh? The worried face you had was so serious!" Mizuki commented.

Akito saw that it was just a table knife being dropped.

"I can't believe you're a princess Y/n." Akito groaned.

Akito was actually one of Y/n's best friends too. So he was able to refer to her by her name.

"Aw Akito was so worried for me! Say Mizuki on a scale of 1-10 how worried did he look?" Y/n snickered.

"10 for sure!" Mizuki replied.

"Seriously you two. If you were so bored at least spend some time doing something else." Akito said before leaving.

"Wait Akito I'm sorry!" Y/n said chasing him while laughing.

Y/n was eating dinner with her family with Akito behind her against the wall. A few other knights were there as well.

"Our enemy kingdom is plotting to attack us. You remember what we do?" The king said.

"Yes father." Y/n and her brother said

Y/n had an uneasy feeling in her stomach, which made her loose her appetite.

Y/n sighed before standing up.

"I'm done eating." Y/n said.

"You haven't ate a lot Y/n are you sure?" Y/n's mother said.

"Yes I am mother. Excuse me." Y/n said before walking to the door of the dining room. Y/n felt eyes watching her. She brushed it off and just walked off.

Akito was the one watching her. He didn't make it obvious. He felt worried for Y/n, when he heard about the attack he wanted to make sure Y/n was safe.

Akito thought the feeling was because he was in charge of protecting the royal family but he was wondering why Y/n in particular. Why does he want to protect Y/n every time danger is reported.

Then it hit him.

"It can't be."

Y/n sat in her room looking outside the window. Until a knock emerged from her door.

"Come in." Y/n said.

Akito came in before closing the door behind him.

"You're scared, aren't you Y/n." Akito said.

"Of course you know. Was it too obvious?" Y/n sighed.

"You normally eat well so it's worrying to see you eat so little." Akito replied.

"I see." Y/n said.

"Akito what does it mean if you get a fuzzy feeling in your chest, your heart races and feel your face getting hot around a certain person?" Y/n questioned.

"That's a very detailed question. Are you experiencing it?" Akito said.

"Yeah. And it's around you. I can't help but feel curious." Y/n sighed.

Akito's eyes widened. Until a dust of pink painted his face.

"I thought you would know this." Akito chuckled.

"Guess not." Y/n smiled.

"Have you ever thought of marrying somebody who is just a local?" Akito asked.

"I mean there's just so much of them that I don't even know what every single one of them look like." Y/n joked.

"Well then maybe a knight?" Akito said.

Y/n's mind immediately clicked to a certain ginger. Which made her blush.

"Well uh..maybe?" Y/n said.

"How lucky. May I know who?" Akito questioned with a smug smile.

"It's a challenge for you to find out." Y/n smirked.

Akito sighed.

"I guess I should've anticipated this.." Akito said.

"Good then!" Y/n stood up.

"It must be time for your dinner and a new knight will be in charge now Mr Shinonome." Y/n walked up to him.

"Forgot about that." Akito said.

"Now you know. Now go eat or else you won't have any food tonight!" Y/n lead him out.

"Who's going to look after you while I'm gone?" Akito asked looking behind him.

"Tsukasa! Don't worry he's equally as entertaining, but overly loud. But! It brings me enough entertainment! Now go on!" Y/n said.

"Fine. Find me when you need me though." Akito said looking at Y/n.

"I get it." Y/n chuckled before closing the door.
