Charlie keeps elbowing me as we walk towards our classroom for English, I push him away as we step inside. I focus on where I'm walking so I don't accidentally walk into a table or something but I spot Melody and Ciara sitting at a table together. I wave at Melody and she returns it with a wave and a smile.
"Did you hear about the new English teacher? I've heard that she's supposed to be so hot." Charlie whispers and I look at him with my eyebrows furrowed as we sit down near the back, I slide my bag strap off of my shoulder, resting my backpack down on the floor beside my chair.
"Yeah, her name is Miss Snow or something...I met her yesterday—she robbed my book, Charlie. The one I told you about." I slap my hands down on the desk, not too hard that I draw attention but enough to get my point across.
"You met her and she stole your book? Should we plan her murder?" He asks.
"We should." I say sarcastically and nod at the question he asked. He cracks a smile and I smile widely back at him. Charlie has one of the most contagious smiles, I really adore his smile but I also just adore Charlie in general.
"So is she hot—"
"Quiet down." Miss Snow speaks as she walks into the classroom, setting her stuff down on her new desk. Nobody listens to her except for me and Charlie.
She wears glasses? She slides them up onto her head and crosses her arms while she waits for everyone to quiet down. She makes eye contact with me and I roll my eyes, I'm going to hold a grudge forever. I don't care if she's my Teacher. She stole my book, the book that I have wanted for the last two months.
"All of you quiet down or I'll give each one of you detention for a week." She says and leans back against her desk. Does she have to be so extra?
"You can't do that." Ciara laughs, looking to Melody beside her who keeps quiet. I glance to Charlie who groans, dropping his head.
"Really? Alright then, I think you've earned yourself detention." She leans off the desk, looking at Ciara with a small smile.
"For what?"
"For talking back and not listening to the instructions I made fairly clear." She crosses her arms still smiling. She enjoys this. Psycho much...
"Well—"
"Keep talking and I will give you detention for two weeks without a second thought." Miss Snow raises an eyebrow at Ciara and I look to Charlie noticing that he's going red while smiling, trying not to laugh. This guy can never take anything serious.
"Charlie, stop." I elbow him as I whisper, not wanting us to be the next ones to get in trouble.
"You down the back. A week's detention for you too." I look up and she's looking at me—talking to me.
"What?" I raise my voice out of surprise, not even meaning to raise my voice necessarily but it just happens.
"I said, a week's detention for you too. I have no problem giving detention to people who don't know how to listen." She raises her voice slightly.
"I was just telling him to quiet down so we wouldn't get in trouble, I was getting him to listen and I get detention for that? Would you have preferred him to keep talking? He'd do it if I didn't say it." I question and she raises an eyebrow at me.
"She knows how to keep me under control." Charlie mumbles and I tilt my head to him, she looks over me again, the same way she did earlier, maybe slower.
"Do you want to keep going and get two weeks worth of detention?" She questions, this woman stole my book, I'm not backing down.
"Two weeks detention and you can't give me a reasonable explanation as to why I'm getting detention in the first place?" I sit back confused, she doesn't even look angry. If anything she looks merely amused by this.
