Hey, guys. Here we are at Chapter 14. I want to apologize if some of you got disturbed by the previous chapter.
I know Yusho isn't the type of person to be like that. I don't hate him, but as I stated at the end of the last chapter, he is very narrow minded. He thought he could end the Dimensional War by himself if he had just talked to Leo and completely disregarded Reiji's original plan to have him lead the Lancers. He thinks all conflicts can be solved by Dueling with smiles, and let's be realistic, that wouldn't happen in real life. And finally, he believes that if you laugh, all your problems would go away, which is completely wrong in my opinion.
The idea of the remake is to incorporate reality within fiction and that's what I'm trying to do with this version of the ARC-V universe and its characters.
Anyway, enough with that, on with the chapter.
Chapter 14: Maiami City will become Battle City
Aftermath of the School Duel
After another day in the hospital, Yuya was finally cleared to go back home. He first went to You Show to let the children know that he was feeling better and to finally have an overdue party to celebrate their victory over LDS.
As a present for their victory, Sugoroku gifted Yuzu, Ruri and Rin some new cards that would compliment and enhance their decks. What's more, Leo Corporation honored their deal and You Show got 10% of their assets and with that money, they were able to finally get the latest equipment from exercise machines to weights and even a new wall climber.
As a recommendation, Yuya was to attend some therapy sessions regarding his feelings towards his father. While it did hurt to talk about it, Yuya was slowly but surely healing and it helped that all of his friends were supportive of him. It seemed all was well.
But as they say, the ending of one chapter is the beginning of another.
Maiami Middle School
Yuya and Yuzu were on their bench about to have their lunch. Yuya opened his bento and smiled. "Yes, Fried Shrimp. Thanks Mom." Yuya smiled as he took his first bite.
"You're feeling a lot happier lately." Yuzu smiled. Even though Yuya still had a mature vibe around him, his child side would emerge from time to time.
"Well things are looking up. You Show is now caught up in terms of quality. I'm getting over my daddy issues. And we just proved that LDS is not unbeatable. How can I not be happy?" Yuya answered.
While Yuzu was happy that Yuya was feeling better, she couldn't help but wonder what would happen if he met his father again. "Hey, if he does ever come back, what are you gonna do when you see him?"
"Well, I have to wait my turn since Mom already called first dibs." Yuya said. "She's already preparing a dog house for him."
"Guess the couch is an act of mercy." Yuzu joked. "Oh, you got a little..." Yuzu gestured to her mouth.
"Huh?" Yuya had a bit of rice on the corner of his mouth.
"Right there." Yuzu used her napkin to wipe it out.
"Uh, thanks." Yuya blushed a bit and scratched his cheek.
"Y-Yeah..." Yuzu blushed too.
They then heard a loud crunch and they turned to see Sawatari eating some popcorn. "Hey." Sawatari waved.
"How long have you been standing there?" Yuya asked.
"An hour." Sawatari answered.
"But lunch just started five minutes ago." Yuzu pointed out.
