Hey guys! Sorry I'm late with this chapter. I felt really sick and I couldn't concentrate on my writing. But I feel much better now. This chapter was my toughest one to write as I had to go back to episodes featuring Amelda and using his experience in this Duel with Ruri.

Anyway, on with the chapter.

Chapter 25: Duelists of War! Ruri vs Amelda

Sakaki Residence

Yuya was lying on his bed staring at the ceiling. At lot of Duels took place on the first day of the Maiami Championship. Futoshi managed to win his Duel, but Ayu lost hers in the Junior Division. And both Rin and Yuzu won their Duels against Kajiki and Masumi.

Yuya had a sad look on his face. "Maybe...I went too far." He wanted Yuzu to win the Duel, but a part of him felt bad for yelling at her and accusing her of ignoring Melodious Flower Dragon.

Yuya sat up and reached for his Duel Disk and dialed Yuzu's number and held it up to his ear.

"Hello?" Yuzu answered.

"Hey, Yuzu. Are you still up?" Yuya asked.

"Yeah, I'm still up. Everything okay?" Yuzu asked.

"I'm fine. Well, sort of." Yuya admitted. "Listen, I wanted to apologize."

"Apologize for what?" Yuzu was confused.

"For accusing you of not listening to your monster." Yuya answered. "I know you were under a lot of pressure and I really wanted you to win. But I think...no I know I went too far. I'm sorry."

"I will admit, you did surprise me by shouting like that." Yuzu admitted. "But I should actually be thanking you."

"Come again?" Yuya questioned.

"When my original plan ended up not working out, I was stumped. I wanted to figure a way out of it, but in the process, I drowned myself in my thoughts." Yuzu explained. "You shouting at me made me realize that a Duelist doesn't always have to think to win. Sometimes, trusting your instincts and believing in your monsters is enough to overpower any complicated strategy. Thank you, Yuya."

"I still feel bad thought." Yuya rubbed the back of his head. "Tell you what, anything you want for lunch tomorrow, I'll buy."

"That sounds nice." Yuzu replied. "Maybe I'll skip breakfast so you can buy me a lot."

"Ho boy." Yuya sweated and both of them laughed.

"Anyway, you should probably get to bed, you're Dueling tomorrow." Yuzu said.

"Yeah, but first is Ruri's match in the morning and then Gongenzaka's the first in the afternoon." Yuya recalled. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"I'm looking forward to it." Yuzu replied. Both of them ended the call.

"Okay..." Yuya smiled. He then noticed that his mom was standing at the doorway with a smile. "Uh, why are you looking at me like that?"

"No reason. So, how much do you need for your date?" Yoko asked.

Yuya blinked twice before three dots appeared on top of his forehead. "What?!" Yuya exclaimed.

Hiiragi Residence (Ruri's room)

Ruri looked at her deck and crossed her arms. "I should be ready for tomorrow, but this is weird." Ruri looked at her Duel Disk. "There's really no information on Amelda." Ruri made it a habit to research her opponent before a big Duel, but there was nothing on Amelda.

"No background, no Duel history. Nothing." Ruri scanned the information. "He's not a ghost, he's clearly there otherwise, they wouldn't have registered him."
