"Is she going to be okay?"

"Will she wake up?"

"I hope it didn't kill her.."

Talking. Talking and soft bedsheets. The bed was so comfy.. The hoodie was comfy. It smelled like Spencer. I could almost feel all the tiny pieces of fuzz rubbing against my arms to make me warm. My legs weren't covered, I had shorts on. I could only tell because they were tight spandex.

I felt my hand being lifted, but I couldn't move it. Then someone's lips were on my knuckles, "Please wake up, Y/n.. I can't lose you.." Spencer. It was Spencer's voice. I tried opening my eyes first, but that didn't work.

I groaned and felt my body slowly becoming less stiff. "Cookies.." was the first word I got out. It smelled like cookies. Sugar, chocolate chip, white chip and macadamia. There were so many cookies.. Why?

"What did she say?" another voice asked. It sounded like.. my mom?

"Cookies.." I repeated. "I smell cookies." I smiled and I could finally grasp back on Spencer's hands around mine. "Chocolate chip, sugar, and white chip with macadamia." I slowly cracked my eyes open, it being blurry at first, but then I saw three faces: my mom, my boyfriend, and my hopefully soon to be father-in-law. Hopefully. Still not out of high school yet.

I saw Spencer's eyes. The last I remember were his yellow ones. I smiled and lifted my free hand to his cheek, "Your eyes are normal again.." I felt a tear slip onto my hand and I slowly sat up, holding Spencer in my arms. "I'm awake, love.. How long was I out?"

And the room went silent. I pulled away and looked at everyone. "How long. Was I. Out?" I asked again. My mom's face softened as she walked over and sat on the bed next to me.

"Three weeks, dear," she spoke softly. My eyes widened.

"I missed graduation? Our senior bonfire?!" I almost started to shout but my voice was cracking with tears welling in my eyes. Spencer looked at mr and I could see he was about to cry again.

"You graduated, though," Spencer joked and tried to make me feel better. I inhaled sharply, smelling something new.

"You.." I softly started, closing my eyes and pushing my nose into Spencer's neck. "You smell like honey and blueberries.." I pulled away and looked around. What was happening?

"Honey, you um.." my mom started. She put her hand on my thigh but I pushed it away.

"What!?" I shouted. My mom looked a little frightened but she just looked down. I saw Murray walk out from behind us. He got on one knee next to Spencer and looked at me seriously.

"Y/n, you've become a werewolf."

What!? I didn't stay human, nor did I die, but I was in that, like, 2 percent of humans who changed into a wolf? My feelings were everywhere. Was I happy or sad? I watched Murray stand and lead my mom out of the room, leading Spencer to sit on the bed with me.

"I- I'm so sorry, love.. I didn't know what was going to happen and I took the risk and—" I cut him off,

"Spence.." I smiled and laughed softly, "Spencer I'm not mad at you. We went over this, three weeks ago apparently."

"I know but everything just feels fucked up and if you don't want to be with me I understand and—" Once again, I cut his rambling off, but this time with his lips. It felt like fire when we kissed, though. But a good fire. Like an explosion going off in my body.

I held us there for a few seconds before I pulled away. "Everything is so different, Spencer.. I can smell you differently, your kiss feels like explosions.. I can feel what you feel." I looked up and slowly I moved my eyes over to the mirror. I looked at my yellow eyes first — then I slowly looked to my neck. There was the bite mark. It had scarred.

"Wounds don't normally scar, but since that's a mate's mark.." he told me. I smiled and looked at him.

"Okay but how do I turn into a wolf?" He chuckled.

I slowly walked behind Spencer down to the kitchen. It seemed everyone was packed in there. Once we were there, someone started a howl. The others joined in, even Spencer. "Welcome to the pack, Y/n!" someone told me.

"Yeah, welcome," I heard a familiar voice. It was Chris, but he was smiling. "Guess you're one of us now."

"Yeah, and our future Alpha female!" the girl I had met the first time shouted and jumped up. The others cheered. I had to cover my ears while they did. Everything sounded like having your earbuds turned up all the way, times 1,000, with just screamo playing.

"Alright, settle down," Murray said and stood. "Today we welcome another wolf into our pack. It's been a long three weeks of waiting, but Y/n has officially become one of us this morning. Let's welcome her into our pack with a celebration!" Murray held up a beer can and everyone held up their drinks.

"To our future Alpha female!" everyone said together and clinked soda cans, beer cans, water bottles, and even a caprisun. I stood with Spencer while I watched the chattering of everyone.

"Lets go outside.." he whispered to me. I nodded and walked, holding his hand, outside behind him. We walked around until we found the campground that Murray had taken me to during our important conversation.

"So, will you become big when Murray hands down the leadership?" I questioned while walking over one of the fallen logs.

"Yep. It's a site you don't want to miss. Everyone says it's magical."

"Being a werewolf is magical enough, babe," I said with a wink. He laughed and held his arms out. I fell into them and Spencer spun me around, soon setting me on the ground.

"To turn into a wolf, it might take you a bit. You have to imagine yourself becoming a wolf. Imagine running through the woods with the rest of your pack as you hunt for food. Imagine protecting your barriers with your brothers and sisters by your side. Imagine the wind blowing through your fur, just like it does your hair." Almost on cue, the wind blew. I closed my eyes and sucked in a deep breath, thinking about it.

I jumped slightly when he put his arms around me. "Imagine us running the woods together, our pups behind us, falling over all of the twigs that we know to step over. How I want to raise our pups with you one day.."

I felt Spencer slowly step out of my arms and I smiled, exhaling deeply. I felt like I was falling to the ground, but when I opened my eyes, I was actually laying on the ground. As a wolf. As a wolf!

I stood up slowly and watched Spencer change as well. He was a tad bigger than me, but he pointed his snout to the ground. I did mine as well and gently pressed my head against his.

"Open your mind to me.." I heard. I opened my eyes and backed away slowly. Spencer trotted back towards me and rubbed his cheek with mine. "Mind link. It's how we communicate. You're only linked with me right now."

"How the fuck do I talk in wolf?" I thought I was only thinking that, but Spencer barked. I could hear the laugh coming from his mind, but he was actually just barking aloud.

"Like that." he told me. I glared at him and leaned back, pouncing on my mate. I got him to the ground and pinned him on his back.

"Man, pouncing on people is pretty fun," I told him. Suddenly, when I lost concentration, he was able to flip us over so he now pinned me. I was smiling internally at him. Spencer slowly moved his shout to the fur around my neck and licked gently.

I turned back into a human and smiled. Once he changed as well, he laid on top of me. We just cuddled together. "I'm glad you're a wolf.." he said.

"Were you hoping that?" I asked sarcastically.

"Nope, I was just hoping it was enough to get you pregnant," he joked while kissing my cheek. I slapped his chest playfully as we both laughed.
